    2nd to last defender
    Scholes.

Look at how Man Utd did last year without him.

Scholes, partly because he's had a longer career and won a great deal more. Ask this question again when both have retired.

Both past their prime. I would say Scholes based on current form. Over their carears its about even.

i would probably just go for paul scholes out of these two. Scholes and man u this season have made me see how important he is to them.
both are excellent players and despite what some people are saying they both could play in either la liga or the premiership.

No darling, I think Deco would do quite well actually.

I say Deco. 2 Champions league, WC semifinals, Euro finals, UEFA Cup.

I don't, just don't think his playing style would suit the premiership, as Scholes with La Liga. Scholes would be too rough, and Deco is too brittle for the Premiership. I don't really need to list Scholes honours do I?

Paul Scholes hands down. Played several different roles for United starting at foward eventually dropping into a central midfield role, excelling at all of those positions. Consumate professional, Deco couldn't hold a candle to him.

Scholes didn't have to switch country to play internationally.

Didn't switch countries, he immigrated to Portugal at the age of 16.

I would take scholes, I enjoy watching him play much more, though that does not imply that deco is an inferior player.

oh also, scholes never cheated on his wife for an english prostitute (as far as I know)

That story was fabricated by a Spanish paper known to "exaggerated" the truth. The paper is equivalent to The Sun in England.

Why would Deco cheat on this? Think about it? Beautiful Morena for some pasty pale girl? I doubt it...

gold digger, that's why he'd cheat on her. but let's get back on topic.

Scholes would beat the pants off Deco any day. just like Bayern beat the pants off Real Madrid in 10 seconds.

Close, but I would have to say Scholes. I actually do think that Scholes could play in La Liga, it's just that he would be given little defensive responsibilty, as opposed to in the Premiership where he has to put in some tackles. On the other hand, I don't think Deco could cope with the Premiership, upon being asked to change his game in a similarly adaptive way.

Both are incredible players, no doubt, and just about any team would die to be able to have them in their midfield.

of course the answer is PAUL SCHOLES,in BARCA,they have RONALDINIHO,XAVI,with DECO,they are great midfielder in the world, the influence without DECO is not so big as it is to MAN UTD,KEANE has retired,CARRICK still not at the position, you can see how important PAUL is to MU

Defo Scholes, scholes would do well in La Liga.
While Deco the diver would be flop in premiership, he would be booed a lots and cry every time someone tackle him english-style.

These anti-Deco types are real funny.
I mean what is a Man U fan to do? They want to claim Deco is a diver, but they all know that their diver, C. Ronaldo, is the best player in the Premiership this year.
Deco could play anywhere in the world and do just fine.
Scholes could too. Still, I'd personally take Deco's ball skills, passing and shooting ability over Scholes toughness.

The English rants against anything Portuguese are really becoming tiresome.

It's not English versus Portuguese at all, I just prefer Scholes to Deco, and think that his style of play wouldn't be effective in England.
