I noticed that the Cyberrays announced who is at their tryouts. Anyone know who's trying out elsewhere?

    From Soccer America's women's insider:

    3. TRYOUTS: The most intense WUSA preseason training camp, and best battle for jobs, may be San Diego's. Spirit coach Omid Namazi has invited eight players with WUSA experience -- including recently
waived goalkeeper Erin Fahey (Washington), defenders Amanda Cromwell (Atlanta) and Ronnie Fair (New York), and midfielder Allie Kemp (Boston) -- into his camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in nearby Chula Vista.

Fahey, the No. 2 keeper with the Freedom last year, and Fair, who had started every match in Power history, were among the most eye-raising names on last month's WUSA waiver list.

(The other big surprises -- Chinese defender Fan Yunjie, from San Diego, and Carolina defender Staci Wilson -- haven't been invited to a camp; Fan is expected to play with China's national team in preparation for next fall's Women's World Cup.)

Five waived players, three of them from New York, were invited back by their clubs. Power coach Tom Sermanni, forced by updated roster rules to break a promise to his players that he wouldn't waive any of them, asked all four of his discarded players into camp. Midfielders Justi Baumgardt-Yamada, Krista Davey and Kim Montgomery took him up on his offer. Only Fair declined.

Washington brought back forward Meredith Beard and Boston invited in midfielder Sarah Yohe.

Other waived players getting a chance are goalkeeper Maite Zabala (waived by Philadelphia) and midfielder Sherrill Dempsey (San Diego) with Carolina, midfielder Ann Cook (Washington) with San Jose, and forward Tracey Milburn (with New York).

Dempsey -- formerly Kester -- last fall asked San Diego for a trade to Carolina, to be closer to her husband. Instead, the Spirit sent her to New York in the swap of top draft picks; when she made it
clear she planned to play for the Courage or retire, the Power sent her back to San Diego and the Spirit coughed up Carly Smolak, its No. 1 keeper at the end of last season.

A dozen 2001 reserves were called into camps, most of them by their former club. Mexican national team goalkeeper Linnea Quinones, near the end of an injury rehab, will get a chance with San Jose when she's healthy. So will injured forward Christina Bell, who was waived last fall when the CyberRays acquired Mandy Clemens from Philadelphia.

Here's a list of tryout players (according to the clubs) who have reported or are expected to report to WUSA camps:

Alright! I'm so glad Gragg wants to try out again with the Beat! I really thought she was a good player to keep especially with her work rate! I was surprised she was let go to SD, I thought we needed more speed up front. She is excellent to have on in the 60th min when everyone is tired and you have lil spastic kerry running around :D

Where's Arase? Did she get picked up by any team? I thought she was pretty impressive...maybe too small though.
