Vasco is leaving for sure so who would you like and why.

Would you like an FMF coach?

    Carrillo for continuity?

I personally vouch for either Bielsa or Hiddink.

I feel they can make a lot of something modest and provide beautiful football to watch.

They are also very strict, don't take crap and practice any mistake they spot until it is corrected.

Bielsa would be ideal. Won't happen, though. I'll take Chepo.

    1) Bielsa- this is the best option
    2) La Volpe- With these new crop of players the sky is the limit.

I wouldn't pick any Mexican coach. I dont like Chepo specially when he coached Chivas. We also have to remember what Nestor said. The national team has a set system that the coaches need to fit in. Im guessing they are doing it like Chivas, every coach has to fit the ideology of the club. In this case the national team. I think from now on every coach has to be an attack minded, atrevido coach. Bielsa is the man.

i thought aguirre was a different breed of mexican coach, that could elevate mexico at the international level (not saying our WC run is over, but his rep has taken a hit IMO after that uruguay game) but he's just as mental midget as some of our other clowns like herrera, etc.

that being said, i think our future lies in a foreign coach like bielsa, peckerman or some other south american coach. i dont have much faith in the recycled FMF coaches like lapuente or meza to be honest.

chepo is an interesting option and feel he is the strongest FMF coach candidate. just dont know if he's ready for the big time

Chepo lacks the experience at this time IMO.

I want to see a coach with WC experience.

I'm surprised more people don't want Hiddink.

Hiddink would be cool but you know how us Mexicans are. The coach needs to know el medio. This is why Bielsa is such a great option. Pekerman would be great also. I wouldnt mind Bianchi, this guy Im sure knows us very well.

Hiddink is managing Turkey for the next couple of years, he would make a great Mexico coach though.

even if we get a Mexican coach like Chepo or Vucetich, he would still pick his "compas" and would probably still bend over for the FMF

    1. Bielsa: If he does get pick, though, people/media will have little patience
with him, so eventually he will get replaced by...
    2. Chepo: One of the most successful coaches in recent time, champions
with an all-mexican squad, Chivas, already and champion and
sub-champion(I believe) with Toluca. Not sure if he will give young
guys opportunity to start, this is my biggest fear if Chepo does
    become the coach.
    3. Lavolpe: I like what he did in Copa Confederaciones and we came awfully
close to go to quarter finals in 2006. He also gave a 19 year a
chance to play against a power house that is Argentina--Andres
Guardado. Any coach that recognizes talent and is willing to
play him in the world cup...he's my kinda coach.

Note: I did not list Carillo as one of my choices because he played part in having old farts like Cuah and Conejo being on the team and for putting Guardis on the bench. I am all for continuity, but this is going to be the exception.

I have always been a huge fan of Pelligrini, and he is currently available.

If it is a Mexican coach, he'll get a two year trial period (gold cup, copa america, olympics).

    I like Bielsa.

Hiddink would be cool but he's under contract. We need an outsider. Someone with no ties to anyone in Mexican footie and who will pick the best players.

maybe you are Hugo Sanchez >_>

no but seriously, i think to a neutral fan in terms of coach preference and coming from person who doesn't really remember off the field shyt from lavolpe and the anti argie smear campaign he was hit with, duela al que le duela he had one of the best mexican squad weve had in a minute (good defensively, good on set pieces, OFFENSIVE)

its fair to say "what did we do tho?"...but i think we were still lacking those players who could make that last push to make us big,and looking at the current generation and some players that have promise,i think if he has the options to pick from EVERYONE, and the media gets off his nuts this time he can do it better ...

    LaVolpe = FAIL

He had a full cycle and did no better than his predecessors. We tied Angola and lost to Portugal's B team FFS. He brought his son-in-law and Claudio Suarez to the WC instead of Cuauh. He was given every luxury one could ask as a coach and he failed.

    Fuck LaVolpe.

I like Bielsa as an option and I might take some heat for this one but what about Los Cobos? He did a good job with a shitty cerote team (it's ok, I'm half a cerote) and he's Mexican. Thoughts?
