Leaving out the Midfiled dilemma, in the England defence who would you choose if you were Sven for '06?

Although W. Bridge is a really good player and always gives 110% i would have to put Ashley cole on the left because he crosses really well and , on the right i think Gary neville is not challenged for that spot. but at Centre back comes the real question, i think i would put JT and Rio

    Who would you play?

as said my potter, if fit and in form

    G.Neville- Ferdinand- Terry- Cole

bench IMO King for CB, Bridge for LB, and Woodgate's selection would be dependant on his fitness and his form for Madrid.

Defense looks solid, minus the Right Back position.

Thats an awesome defence there. England would never concede a goal with that back-line.

And I thought I was the only one with a vision of Phil Neville on everyone's shoulders while lifting the World Cup trophy...

    Add David James in goal...

Is this the best England back line ever?

    Rio is our best defender.

Sol and Terry - it's a toss up. I've noticed how they both manage at least one critical error per game.

Gary Neville is England's best right-back, suggesting that to be a problem area.

Ashley Cole is good going forward and good going back. So is Wayne Bridge but in my opinion, Ashley Cole shades it.

Benched would be Carragher, King and Bridge and Glenda Johnson.

Although he might have improved recently, I like my defenders to be able to defend first and foremost.

Just noticed Teso is a mod. This means I will have to shout at him more often than usual on the Manure board.

Have you actually watched Cole recently?

He has really sharpened up that side of his game...

I don't rate Bridge anyway. He's only there becuase he can play left side of defense. And we have a lack of natural options in that area of the field.

    its got to be

    g.neville terry carragher a.cole

On last seasons form no centre halfs in the world wud touch terry and carra. IMO rio is massively overrated.

Gary would be rightback, Rio centreback, Sol centreback if 100% otherwise i would put JT, and Ashley for leftback
