I gotta go with Ronnie Ekelund....he's the ultimate veteran. He's very vocal on the field with direction, he seems to be able to work the refs pretty well and as a midfielder, he can communicate to the fwds and defenders as well.

Ekelund, with Agoos a close second. Mulrooney just doesn't strike me as a leader, except by example. A captain needs to be more than that.

I gotta go with Jeff, pending he's going to be getting big-time minutes. He's already captain, and I don't believe in revisiting the issue each season unless the incumbent captain doesn't want it any more or he's not going to be playing enough.
Same problem the Sharkies have right now with their captain (Owen Nolan). Leads by the way he plays -- usually, with notable exceptions this season like his meltdown against STL -- but has no clue about locker room leadership (I'm not saying Richard doesn't, but you could be right...).

I don't like having a captain that loses his temper. I pick Agoos with Dayak as backup.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp My first choice would be Jeff Agoos. My second choice would be a tie between Troy Dayak and...

I would say that Richter Boy is our honorary captain, he's good at hurling abuse at underachieving fools.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp That would be difficult for him to do from way up in Portland.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Perhaps he could be the honorary captain of the Timbers, though. :D

I would pick Jeff. His authority has already been established; if he's still playing, why change the flow of command and risk screwing up the flow of the team? In addition to that, despite Richard's poise and confidence, I don't feel that he has the fierceness it takes to be a captain. In other words, he's too nice.

As the late, great Inspector Clouseau once said: [Clouseau_accent] Not any more... [/Clouseau_accent].

Good luck in Toronto, Owen. Maybe we'll see you at Spartan this summer.

I expect that Agoos will continue as Capitain. And he should. So I voted assuming Captain for those matches in which Jeff can't play. In which case, I think I'd have to go with Troy.

For those of you who think that Richard isn't ready to be captain, he usually is when Jeff isn't playing. I don't think I've ever seen Ronnie wear the armband.

    GO QUAKES!!

For a minute there I thought that was another "Krak" at Krakowiak.
