A subject not really meant to be methodically analyzed, but if you could have any addition to the team, who would it be? Ive always been a fan of Aguero and Lahm, and in my perfect world they'd somehow be incorporated into the team

If its restricted to only one fantasy signing, then id say Lahm.

    ------------Reina--------------

    Lahm---Carra---Agger--Dossena

    Kuyt---Masch--Gerrard----Riera

    -------Torres---Keane--------

Subs: Cavalieri, Skrtel, Arbs, Alonso, Lucas, Yossi, Babel

anyone who mentions Maradona in his prime around English persons is raring for a rumble.
i'd take Cruyff not in his prime.
Zidane was always in his prime.
    Beckenbauer was German.
    Pele is fairly obvious.

If I could have two, it would be Alves and Abidal from Barca.

    ----Gerrard---Alonso---
    Messi--------------Robinho

    ---------Torres---------

Im basing this off of my favorite FIFA management-mode lineup... :D

Can also put Gerrard between Messi and Rob and Mascherano behind the three of them

The one thing I don't like about discussing fantasy signings is we might put up lineups that take the Liverpool-ness out of our lineup.

While Robinho, Messi, and Aguero are all great players, it's hard for me to imagine a fantasy Liverpool side without the hard-working Dirk Kuyt or the black hole known as Javier Mascherano.

And what about that one little Irishman we got who is just starting to come into his own?

I will stick with my improvement of our outside backs, but I will stop there.

    :)

Well, I wouldn't mind those guys in the squad, but I wonder if they would be willing to come off the bench?

think i have to go with messi...

    offensively, we'd look like:

    .....gerrard.......masch
    messi...... keane..... riera
    .............torres

who could stop us? with babel and xabi coming off the bench, too?... might as well hand us the treble, now, and save yourself a trip... or three...

There are at least 6 better LB's in the world than Abidal.

Lahm, Evra, A Cole, Vargas, Clichy and Zambrotta.

There is also a case for Maxwell and Grosso.

Once Dossena is settled and understands how everyone else in the squad plays and understands Rafa's tactical requirements, he will be much better than Abidal. Remember...Dossena was playing many games in a 3-4-3 system with Udinese as a wing-back and needs time to completely adjust to the 4 man backline.

I'd say any of these guys could add some flair to the team.

Leo Messi. We'd be scoring goals like crazy. His perfect passes, drawing opposition defenders away and creating space for the forwards...we'd murder all comers.

Fantasy signing? Somehow clone Phillip Lahm, and play him at both right back and left back. :D

OK, let me get this right - it's my fantasy signing?

Well, in my fantasy, I'm good enough to play for Liverpool, so they sign me. And to continue the conceit, they actually pay me to play. And to extend it a bit further, somewhere along the line, in my fantasy, I've got a truck load of money (a really big truck) and get to tell Hicks and Gillett to do one.

Now that's a really good fantasy signing.

(There are also women involved in this fantasy, but I'm shy and, as you can see, not very confident, so I can't divulge any more. Oh, and Guinness.)
