Milan played great against Depor, but have they peaked too early?????? We shall see....

...oh ....and Bayern....who would have thunk it!?!?
    (not like i'm unhappy!?!?!?)

With Nesta, Rivaldo, Inzaghi, Costa, Maldini. I think Milan could be a force this time. Same with Juventus, Del Piero is playing fantastically. The return of Serie A in the CL.

Milan were awesome last night. Nesta has instantly gelled with Maldini in defense as they have played for the Azzuri so much. Rivaldo had some moments, Pippo did the business and Sheva will return soon. A frightening prospect. If they beat Bayern next week I would back them to make the semis. Arsenal are in full stride aswell. Real and Valencia could make up the other semi-finalists.

It looks like Basel and Bayern are the surprise teams so far. :)

Are you serious about Bayern being a surprise team or is my sarcasm detecter malfunctioning? They are stacked. If Bayarn doesn't make it to at least the semi-finals, I anticipate apoplexy from Beckenbauer.

The 1 - 1 result yesterday pretty much serves me right, as I was a little smug when Celtic fell out to Basel.

On the other hand - it is not like Basel flat out out-played us.

Trust me they are a totally different proposition at home, slick one touch passing and their movement is brilliant, they have pace just about everywhere and their keeper is inspired.
we didnt play particularly well in either leg but we took a 2 goal advantage over there to see it wiped out in 20 minutes.:(

Arse are playing well. Real will stumble though. But as you were pointing out, Milan is playing very, very well right now. THey're my favorites to win it this year.

For the moment, Milan seem the most likely contender after Real. They are such a solid team after I seen their matches. Arsenal's problem is that keeper is degrading in quality, he finds it difficult to prevent free kick goals.
