Kuyt also plays because he balances out the team. You cant just stick a more talented, less hard working wing player in for kuyt and expect to get better results. Team cohesion and balance would be affected.

Errrrrrr.....o.....k..... If you're trying to argue that Kuyt is a more dangerous weapon on offense than Tevez, you're fighting a losing battle. I severely doubt Kuyt has scored 31 first team goals, provide a link showing that. (Wikipedia shows him scoring 7 goals in Europe last year)....I think he's scored 26 goals in 110 or so apps. So he scores a goal every 4 games. Tevez has 20 goals in 60 or so apps. So he scores a goal every 3 games. And about Europe.....Tevez scored 4 goals last year (12 apps), which is one less than Kuyt has scored in 3 years at Liverpool (25+ apps). So......ummmm.....yea.....
Tevez (a support striker) has a better goal ratio at Man Utd than Kuyt ( supposedly a striker) at Liverpool.

The qualifying round has never counted when discussing or ranking CL players. His assist was for Gerrard's long-range strike in the opener against Marseille.
