I have not seen the group games just the QF. Tunisia and Mor. were both a little disappointing to me with their play on the pitch. I think Nigeria is the best team left, what do you guys think? Anyone see Mali going all the way?

Well, I'm cheering for Mali now, even if they are still the underdogs. They deserve it for their spirit.

Nigeria may have the talent, Tunisia the advantages, Morocco the organization, but I hope
    that Mali has the destiny.

    Bain oui, Allez les Aigles!!!!!!!!!

    I'm going with Nigeria.

And on a side note. This year's cup has given me a realization of African soccer. It's very interesting and I am actually going to pay attention to it now.

  5. My prediction..

My earlier predictions have been thrown out of the window for one reason or another...and this goes on to confirm that football results are really unpredictable!

I had Mali and Senegal in the final but now things are very different...circumstances have altered and now my favourite to take the cup is Nigeria.Mali still should beat Morocco.Nigeria....I expect to beat the hosts Tunisia.

There is a sense of renewal in the Super Eagles camp..a sense of purpose in their play even though they no longer boast the embarassment of riches that used to populate their squads in the early to late 90s.Okocha is still the talisman and leader and the younger players seem to be responding well to his presence in the squad. Kanu has not been particularly impressive but he is ok to be there.

However, I have yet to see Agahowa do something that the game has been waiting for since he hit the big time 4/5 years ago.He has been very average and I think he needs to move to a more high profile club in Europe to grow his game.

As for Mali, I have been impressed by Kanoute and Coulibaly..the No. 10 and I am not sure where Seydou Keita is, does anyone know where the guy is, the guy from Lens?

While Tunisia have been able to grind out results I have not really seen anyone specially outstanding. They are the hosts and I think to a large extent the support from the fans has been a very big factor. The mercenary dos Santos is my pick here and Trabelsi has not really been on fire.

Morocco has Youssef, Mustapha Hadji's younger brother who stands out as one for the future but I see them coming to a dead-end against Mali.

Well, I predicted at the beginning of the tournament that 2 of the 4 that are left would make it this far, and believe it or not it was not Mali and Nigeria, but Morocco and Tunisia. I had a Morocco-Cameroon Final with Morocco winning it all, so I'm gonna stick with Morocco winning it. Tunisia has played ok and there are two reasons why they are here now and why i predicted them to get this far:

    1) Home support and getting the close calls as do most hosts.

    2) Easy opposition. When you have a group containing Guinea, Rwanda and DR Congo and then playing Senegal (which I think was having a horrible Finals coming into that match), Tunisia could afford to play "ok" football and make it this far.

But now they face Nigeria which I think played very well against Cameroon. Mali have played well too but again, against much easier opposition than Morocco has faced. Morocco has already defeated Nigeria, drew against South Africa, and had the determination to win the one against Algeria. Mali, although with young sensation Kanoute, have only played Kenya, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Guinea, and the one against Guinea they played poorly I thought and if it wasn't for Camara fumbling the ball on that late shot, Mali might not even be here right now. My take is that it will be Morocco vs Nigeria in the Final with Morocco taking the cup.
