i say arsenal. they have great team spirit and great team this year. they show this yesterday against sevilla which is another great team.
I would like to remove Chelsea from my original list. With JM gone, I doubt Chelsea will get to the final.
All it took was getting rid of Henry to be good. Hmmmm If Arsenal keep their form, I see them in the final against another big side. It won't be all English towards the end this year either. Maybe Liverpool and Arsenal final four.
What makes you say english teams are weaker than last year, only the mourinho saga but with him gone chelsea will play better football.
Buddy, if you think Chelsea are better off with Avram Grant than Mourinho, I suspect you are in for a rude awakening. Actually, probably not, as you are a United fan.
1. LOL...if you can't find a irish pub in boston... 2. Im liking this ARSENAL squad...my gut is saying real madrid for soem reason though.
I think AS Roma will win the Champions League this season! They are playing brilliant football this season and have 1 of the best players in the world in Francesco Totti, what a player! They are very underrated and play as good football as anyone in Europe. I cant look past Roma, Inter, Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal for the Champions League crown!
Rocchi and Pandev are ok. With Italy's forward woes I am suprised Rocchi hasn't even been mentioned as a call-up. However, Behrami is terrible. Every game I've ever seen of him is so bad my eyes start bleeding. Granted, I don't watch Nazio often, but every time I see him he loses the ball almost every time he has it. The commentary even gets in on how bad he is. It would be interesting to see a Rome derby in the CL knockout stage. Someone would undoubtedly be beaten to death, and the came will be called though.
Boban, I haven't heard his name in forever. He was awesome. Yeah hopefully we do buy everyone imaginable, that way we can find someone with the ability to score a !#&%^@ goal when there's an open net. Rosina won't be cup tied, and neither will Di Natale, at least not to the CL. Anyone who thinks Roma or Arsenal will win should know that attractive football rarely wins the CL. The pressure style catches up to those teams thanks to the wear and tear of so many fixtures over such a long time. Barca is the only team that comes to mind, and the glaring example of ugly football that does well is Liverpool. They play hideous football.
How the hell is Schalke getting 25% of the vote? They may be the best German participant this year, but best in Europe?
I never checked the other link. I was talking about the original thread which was closed down. Anyway, I can't believe you Liverpool fans actually thought I was anything more than a troublemaker. I offered the bait and predictably, like good little fishies, you pounced. P.S. Nice result against Marseille. Keep up the good work chaps.
Only special teams are capable of reaching 3 finals out of four. Liverpool aren't special and Milan are past their prime. By the way, all you Lazio fans need to get a grip on reality- Shakhtar Donetsk have more chance of winning the CL than you. After the opening matches, here's how it looks: 1. Lyon are so bad that they should bring back John Carew. 2. German club football sucks donkey balls. 3. Roma need a focal point for their attack (Simone '25 goals a season' Perrotta is not the guy you want on the end of chances). 4. Rosenborg will suck for all eternity. 5. Barcelona are back to their non-lazy and fat primadonna named Ronnie best. 6. Milan are old, washed up pensioners who should seriously consider starting Ibrahim Ba. 7. Liverpool are going to be led to the title by Yossi Benayoun and rousing anthems of YNWA, apart from when they play Marseille, in which case they'll be dumped on their asses. 8. Real Madrid are a circus with different clowns. 9. Fenerbahce aren't as woeful as usual. 10. The Scots are temporarily not a laughing stock. 11. If Fiorentina were in this competition, then they'd coast to the title.
Roma really do need a focal point to their attack. Totti is good and will create, but we need a concrete center forward.
Good performances this week for the 2 Rome clubs I think. Roma were the better team against Man Utd and were very unlucky not to win, they missed some great chances. Yas play some beautiful football going forward, all that passing and movement is a joy to watch! But yas have a dodgy defence that and yes yas do need and out and out striker. Yas are a class team though. I was delighted with Lazios performance against Real Madrid, they're 1 of the best teams in the world yet we were much better than them on the night and we really should have won well! We live on a tiny fraction of the budget Real Madrid live off so fair play to us for the performance on Wednesday
