32 Goal Contributions sets a all time Crew record of Stern John who had 31. Last year Cucho had 27. Definitely a front runner for MVP with Messi, Benteke, Acosta, Puig,Pec ,Bouanga Arango & Evander. For Me it’s between Cucho, Acosta & Evander. It shouldn’t go to Messi but he does have the same 32 goal contributions in less games while Acosta and Evander have 33.
He's the most important player and the biggest name, but is he most *important* to a team's success? Where would they be if he had a season-ending injury in June? Where would we be if Cucho had that same injury on that same day? It doesn't matter.
Guys I'm considering for 2024 Year-End AwardsMVP: Cucho, LuchoCotY: Voting Nancy no matter what (sorry Tata)Newcomer: Pec, SuarezYoung Player: Diego GomezGoalkeeper: Kahlina or FreeseDefender: Steven MoreiraComeback Player: Felipe Mora, Robin Lod— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) October 7, 2024
https://talksport.com/football/2117392/mls-break-rules-inter-miami-lionel-messi-new-kit/ MLS will apparently allow Miami to get new home and away jerseys next year. I think we all know why. (For the record, our current black jersey is being retired this off-season.)
Goal Contributions GC (G/A) Games played GP Legit MVP Candidates: Acosta 33 (14/19) 31 Evander 33 (18/15) 27 Messi 32 (17/15) 18 Cucho 32 (19/13) 26 Next tier : Benteke 30 (23/7) 29 Bouanga 30 (19/11) 31 Arango 29 (17/12) 29 Pec 29 (15/14) 32 Puig 28 (13/15) 28 now if anyone has break down on run of play goals , set pieces , FK, Pk etc … would be interested to see the leaders in that breakdown. Also clearly statistically Messi deserves the MVP but you have to look at how much these players impact their teams. To me that’s why Messi shouldn’t get it but he is clearly the best player.
