Who will take the Euro 2004 Tourney?

My opinions - Spain, with its proximity and lots of home fans making the trip - along with Portugal's home field being huge factor in their final four spot. With France and Italy, two of the European teams who always seem to step it up on the big stage rounding out the semis -

Spain and France in the finals in Lisbon, with Spain taking the major honors.

    No way, it's a movie I've already seen and I don't like replays ...
My prediction is: Italy winning, if we keep playing like we played lately, there will be lot of fun!

    France are the clear favourites.

After that I think there is a group of potentials - Portugal, Italy, England, Czech Rep and Netherlands.

Then below that there is Germany, Spain, Turkey and Sweden.

    Then all the others.

Based on current form you would have to say France.

Yes they were in an easy group for qualifying but they did what no one else did which is dominate. Everyone else struggled against weaker oppostion. But with that said, EURO 2004 is a long way off so injuries could change everything pretty quickly.

Dark Horse: Czech Republic (under no pressure at all, dominated their group as well, even with Holland in it)

I say France (I wouldn´t like to see them win it, but they are very good).

If Germany doesn´t make (and you always have to have us on the list) I´ll go with the Czechs!

Czech Republic are the best team in Europe at the moment.

Other possible winners : Italy, Spain (should they qualify), France and Portugal.

I think that it will be one of the playoff qualifiers...Or it could be France, but I think that it will be a playoff qualifier.

Portugal will make amends for Korea, and show everyone that their success in 2K was no fluke.

    HOME Field advantage.

Clearly the Dutch have the best players. They should win this time!

Hopefully Portugal will crash-out early in the tournament so that we don’t have to see much of Elvis Figo’s ugly grill.

Clearly? I could make a case for almost every "known" team of having the best players. It's all very subjective.

Yes, but the question was "Who will win the Euro 2004"? And it´s not going to be England!

Germans will be third seeds in euro 2004..
a well deserved rating for a poor team.

no saudi arabia's ,koreas's and paraguays in this tournie....no easy ride to the latter rounds...

We've a strong team and it's our best chance of winning a tournament for ages.

To say we won't win is just as daft as saying we definitely will.

It´s not Germanys problem that Italy wasn´t abled to beat South Korea, that Portugal wasn´t abled to beat the USA and we did beat Kamerun (defending olympic champion) with 10 man, so we deserved playing this weak Paraguayan side.

In Between: As long as England doesn´t find a good goalkeeper they won´t win anything.
David James is not better than Seaman, and Seaman was definitly crap.

Seaman only lost a bit of magic when he got too old, until then he was a fantastic keeper and still has the occasional great moment, like his save in last season's FA Cup Semi Final. Even at his worst he still never let in five goals in front of a home crowd while playing for England, and neither has David James. Just remember that ;)

A lot of the negativity thrown at Seaman has come from clueless nationalist yanks on a mud slinging spree which they hope will strengthen their right to boast over their own grossly overrated keepers. It's easily ignored by those with more than three brain cells.

James only had a bad spell at Liverpool - for which there is no great shame, plenty of keepers have had bad times there, Friedel was booted out a lot quicker than James and even Dudek has been suffering lately. Since James took over in goal for England he has been fine, and even if he isn't we can just replace him with Robinson.

It's no good Germany having Oliver Khan when their defence continues to make my local amateur team look like footballing legends.

Judging by this comment i would have to say that you've been following football (or is it soccer" to you?) for about 2/4 years at most. The downside to his career, which was probably as long as you are now old.

When you get the time do some research on him.You probably wont look like such an ass when you then make your next post about him.
