Fluminense showed the guts that are required in this type of competition. Let's see whether they can keep up this pace in the next half - and whether SPFC will do what it needs to seal its semifinal berth.

There's no doubt that was a monumental and embarrassing collapse, but I think it falls short compared to the other two. River and Flamengo are historic clubs and are two of the biggest in the Americas.

that's the final we've been waiting for, sadly if San Lorenzo and Santos both lose, they'll play each other in the semis no?

That was some monumental piece of choking by the Mexicans. Such heroics in Buenos Aires to drop it all and make such papelón at home. Classic.

So what was it, a win by Boca or a choke by Atlas?

Considering Boca's excellent record playing away in the Libertadores it was a win by Boca. Almost everyone who knew anything was saying don't count Boca out in the second leg because they've pulled off some great victories on the road. The Mexicans were the ones acting like Atlas already qualified.

Actually Boca should have finished it in Buenos Aires, but the result of the series was logical. Atlas didn't choke, they had a good tournament, and they got as far as realistically they could go.

Well you can't really say Boca beat Atlas at their best. Everyone who knows anything about Atlas is saying this is the worst game they've played all year.

while i'm assuming that's true, they didn't deserve that draw during the first leg either. a 3-1 would have been a fairer result considering how the two teams played. It's not that big of a surprise the final result of the second leg

Actually based on the matches I watched them play I agree. Today was their worst game, they didn't show the fighting spirit they've shown earlier, and it's hard to say why.

But looking at all four games the teams played, Boca outplayed them for the most part, except for the second half of the first game in Mexico. And in this round they dominated the game in Buenos Aires and they dominated even more today.

Actually, today I think Boca slowed down in the second half because they didn't want to embarrass Brindisi, who is well respected at Boca.

That was a bit of a fluke red card. Should make the last few minutes interesting.

I guess maybe that's why he got the red, because that foul by itself didn't seem that big a deal.

Man, Riquelme is soooooooooooooooooooooooo overrated, he pitied Atlas so much that he didn't even want to score! Good players don't do that!

    /sarcasm

I don't care if Atlas underestimated us, or if they played their worst game of the year. The only thing that matters is that we are Boca and that we are passing through to the semis and that the final scoreline was 0 - THREE. FIVE-2 overall, we are not even close to our best and we scored FIVE freaking times against you.
