I would pick Giggs for corners and Veron (if he stays) for freekicks. If we do get Ronaldinho, he and Veron would have to fight it out.

    Any suggestions..

this thread/question is a little premature, i think you should wait for a long summer of transfers to come to an end.

With the group of players right now, it would be Veron or Giggs, depending on whether it would be better to have a right or left footed kick.

    Giggs?

    Veron?

    Ruud?

    Scholes?

    BAH!!!

John O'Shea should take all free kicks, penalties, corners and goal kicks! ;)

Free kicks deep in Utds half: Goalie or O'Shea (maybe Neville)
Free kicks in the opponents half: Veron, Giggsy & Scholes
Free kicks just outside the (opponents) box: SCHOLES
    Corners: Giggsy/O'Shea/Neville

Wonder if Ruud likes taking free kicks? 60 goals a seson!!!!

Freekicks: Scholes!!! He has the hardest shot. Last season, he scored about 20 goals and many were from outside the box.

Corners: Beckham won't be missed when it comes to corners. How many goals was scored from corners last season... The only one I remember was Wes Brown's in the Champions league.

How is RVN with free kicks? I know he is a master at PK's, but that is quite different than a set piece. I have never seen RVN take on, so I would imagine he isn't the best, plus you want him close to goal, for any rebound or glimpse.

Juan Sebastian Veron. He could have taken alot more but David Beckham never gave him a chance.

Little Ronny Gaucho (if he comes) would be perfectlly capable of taking a nice free. Speaking of which did anyone see his freekicks (and Howard's save!) against the USA in the Confederations Cup?

    thanks

Ah yes, the "How the hell did he get to that ball?" face. I hope I only see that on his face when he is wearing that yellow jersey.

I've never understand why RvN doesn't shoot more from outside the box when you consider the power he gets into his penalties. I'd like to see him take a few free kicks from 20-30 yards out and see what he makes of it.

But RVN is all about power. To score from a free kick (even from 20 to 30 yards out), you need to curve the ball around or over the wall. Power doesnt count much, unless you’re Roberto Carlos and how many free kicks he took and how many actually went in.
