I'd say Lampard by next year he'll be around 33 and probably deteriorating and Chelsea will probably sign some young superstar to replace him. In a year's time he'll probably be out of favor with the coach, happened with Henry.
it's been predictable for three years now. last night was a horror show, and if they depend on richards to generate offense they are ********ed. luckily , their opponents have been just as shitty
Being a DP in this team goes beyond Talent, you need players with a larger profile, that draw media interest and get people talking/ hating. Saborio is good but he doesn't fit the profile that Redbull is looking for currently.
You're still here? Is there anything about this team you like? Tell us, Cabronero, what would you do to improve this team?
I really think its Forlan.... might sound crazy as hell, but interviews during the match... several newspapers in the EU running with stories about it.. It certainly wouldn't surprise me in the least now..
I would be surprised for two reasons. 1) He's in his 30s, and NY keeps talking about youth and speed. 2) I got the impression that he wanted another crack at the EPL, where things didn't work out for him. I'd be happy to have him, but it's not exactly building for the future with 3 DPs over 31.
Yeah, but he would still be a very talented 32 year old to come over here... We have some very good youth talent coming up and don't be surprised if we don't start pulling academy kids from Brazil and Africa to start filling in behind the starting XI.. If I'm not mistaken even though our academy kids are technically internationals they are OUR academy kids so don't hurt the cap nor do they effect our limit of foreign players.. I may be mistaken but I believe I'm right on here...
Easy... If Angel is as good as gone, I'd go pick up Santiago silva from velez sarfield as his replacement. Top striker in argentina for the past two years, 28 is in his prime, and with a nickname like "Tank" you know exactly what you get... a battler for 90 full minutes, strong as an ox, surprisingly good footwork , and a penchant for scoring goals with his head/feet/ankle/tailbone/etc... much cheaper than any aging "superstar" Next go down to australia and pick up carlos hernandez. Costa rican attacking mid with great distribution, and a scud missile for a right foot. they love him in Melbourne, so it would be tough but doable. Bring on Gauchinho as my right winger. 27, great ability on the ball, plays well with his teamates, extremely dangerous on the wing, played several solid years for naestved BK in Denmark , and is now at ac st louis Dump Condoul like a liberal in november , and pick up Fabian Carini as my keeper. 30, excellent all around keeper, free agent, and shouldn't be too expensive either. Bring back CPS as a second string. Dump Salou, Boyens, Talley , Sutton , Robbo , at any cost. Get on Backe's ass about giving playing time to Garcia/Daluz/Agudelo as they are the future stars of not only RB but possibly the National team as well. Henry Silva Lindpere Hernandez Gauchinho Marquez Borman Ream Mendes Albright Carini
I actually like your pickup of Silva.. your right he would certainly excel in this league.. are you only keen on picking up Spanish talent though? I don't hear you mention any Europeans and there are some damn fine ones out there we could pick that are just as good as many of your picks.. I personally like Silva as a pick up though.. if any of you guys haven't seen him please youtube him.. he is really a terrific player..
You would have been a great general manager for DC United in 1996. Sorry, this franchise is no longer interested in middle-of-the-road, up-and-coming, "skill" players from Latin America (...except maybe as role players). That ship has sailed. This team has finally gone Euro, thankfully. And it took 15 years too many to get here. And not only has it gone Euro, it has also gone "superstar." It is a welcomed change. Frankly, no one in Manhattan is getting on the PATH train to see any of the guys you want to bring in. But they will come for Forlan and/or Ronaldinho.
Where are your people from Manhattan ? Your trying to cover the sun with your hands.... Angel Marquez Henry , and still this team is only averaging 14-15 K at most. 20 K my ass The ship has sailed on SA talent ? so Morales Espindola Schelotto Angel Montero Hurtado are just bench players ? what drugs are you on ?
I can only comment on latin players for the most part because It's what i prefer to watch and believe that is where soccer talent comes from today. The euro leagues are no longer interested in developing their own talent, they just find it cheaper to plug holes with the latest flavor from down south. It's overwhelmingly obvious by the drop in the level of national team talent from Italy Germany Holland etc.. For the most part SA players are better developed technically, think faster , play faster , and are more imaginative than european players. Never mind cheaper. I also prefer a more imaginative brand of soccer. An overall fluidity in the flow of the game. There are talented european players, but they are definitely more expensive . 5 mil a piece for henry and marquez ? they were definitely sold a pair of turnips as far as im concerned. I would much rather have a balanced team overall , than a team with three aging superstars surrounded by the graveyard crew from the A&P . I will give Backe credit for Lindpere and Nielsen, even though the latter has not been available for the majority of the campaign but shows ability. any suggestions from the european leagues you could suggest ?
Angel on espn2 at halftime of the USA - Columbia game when asked by Lalas if he would be back w/ the Bulls responded:"Probably not.." Adios muchacho!
He just finished answering LALAS question " I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO NEW YORK NEXT SEASON " We need to bring a star from another latin country, so that way there's other groups of latinos attending RED BULL games !
Ok, how about getting the quote right guys? Alexi Lalas: Will you be in New York next year? Juan Pablo Angel: I probably won't.
Bring somebody from ECUADOR, PERU, EL SALVADOR ? And there's plenty of talent there ... I remember when we had Eduardo "El Tanque" Hurtado and Pitufo ! Those were the days ! I was there on Friday night and it seems like the majority of the fans were colombians and that's due to them always going to see JPA , if the game was at the MEADOWLANDS there would have been more ECUADORIANS ! And when ECUADOR plays against PERU at the MEADOWLANDS there's always a large crowd ! Shoot get somebody from GHANA , WE NEED TO REP NEW YORK/JERSEY the right way ! ( with respect to all RED BULL fans ) shit bring back JOZI
