European teams have been known to react that quickly. Gladbach's coach was fired after three games this season.
You are talking about Seoane right? He had been coaching Gladbach for 2 years. They narrowly avoided relegation in his first season, were mediocre last season, and then started this season very poorly. They barely beat a 5th division side in the opening round of the DFB Pokal. I'm not sure why you think that situation is even remotely similar to Nancy's.
At Celtic? Your job is already in jeopardy. Lots of talk in Spanish media that Xabi Alonso might get axed soon if shit doesn't turn around. He just got there in the summer. That dude at Rangers got fired after just a little bit, didn't he? If Nancy loses four or five in a row badly, there will be calls for his head from some of the media and/or fanbase. Nothing to do with him, it's the job he chose.
No, Erik Ten Hag. Apparently you missed that he was hired, and quickly fired. My favorite quote is that someone in the FO said it was obvious after just a couple preseason practices that he was a bad hire and they should've just fired Ten Hag then lol.
I have a hunch he won't. Tough assignment, but I predict Mr. Nancy goes on to great things. Not sure when, where, or how. But, I predict that it's gonna happen.
Does Nancy 'know what he's walked in to' amid horror Celtic start? https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/czdgg52e9qmo
He was coaching Leverkusen, not Gladbach. I was responding to @kgilbert78 who was talking about Gladbach.
Losing to Roma was expected by anyone rational. Though the scoreline did not help him. Hearts at home hurts but they are in first. Celtic are 3 pts out. Plenty of time left. They are 24th in Europa League with 2 games left. If he can get then through, that should buy some goodwill
Nancy and Celtic lose the League Cup final to St. Mirren 3-1. This is a disaster for Celtic supporters. To put it into perspective, St. Mirren has only beat Celtic 3 times in their last 30 meetings. Nancy's hotseat just got way more hot.
Nancy .... first Celtic coach to lose first 3 games. Same weaknesses today in Scottish League Cup Final that appeared with Crew in 2025 - If the goalkeeper isnt in top form - If the back three aren't in top form and in synch - If there aren't moments of magic from a forward to cap off all the possession Nancy's team is going to give up 3 goals. And lose. Like today.
Lost 3 in a row now. 3 games with Nancy: 0 Wins and 3 Losses 2 goals scored (0.66/game) and 8 goals allowed (2.66/game) 5 games before Nancy: 5 Wins and 0 Losses 11 goals scored (2.2/game) and 2 goals allowed (0.4/game) Celtic played Europa League either side of Nancy's arrival. They also played St. Mirren on either side. Celtic won before Nancy 1-0 on the road, but lost 3-1 on a neutral field with him. If this keeps up, he'll be lucky to make it to New Year's Day. Next four games are against the third, sixth, eighth, and twelfth (last) place teams in the league, three are on the road. Gotta get some wins.
They wouldn't have hired Nancy if they wanted a pragmatic coach to grind out results. My main issue was when we were down so many guys, we didnt really adjust in how many guys we send forward and such. He just doesnt want to be pragmatic, and the board must have made it clear that is okay. Celtic's players are also bad
