Who will step up for the US in this round and make a name for themselves?
    EJ?
    DMB?
    LD?

    You should rephrase the question.

Will EJ get to play, and if so do you think he'll be successful.

The other 2 have already done that.

What? Two posts in this thread and no one has mentioned Adu yet? Travesty.

I think DMB will be a huge presence in the Hex for us.

I also think the Eddies, being Gaven and Johson, will have an impact.

Defensively, I think Steve Cherundolo will have a lot to say in this cycle, particularly in the early games.

What I'm really looking forward to is the difference in the mindset of guys like Carlos, Landon and Damarcus after having spent considerable time playing with "like" players. It can only improve their games and coupled with our "experienced" Euro players bodes well for a good showing in Germany. It looks to be a very interesting year for our side.

I think Clint Dempsey will get some oppurtunities. He is a dangerous player and is the kind of guy that coaches seem to like, so I can see the Bruce giving him some starts, perhaps against T&T. The best thing for Demps' chances is the fact that he has proven himself in MLS at several different positions and I dont see why he cant do the same for the MNT, especially against the weaker opponents in this hex..

A better chance Martini and Rossi have an impact than those two. :)

I think it's pretty obvious that we would expect both LD and Beas to have an impact..

We should probably be speculating on other players who could have a meaningful impact..

Ed Johnson - his speed alone will be an asset for us..

Oguchi Onyewu - his speed and size is needed on our backline..

Chris Albright - boy, you couldn't say this a year ago, but if he continues to improve at both club and nats level, there is no reason why he couldn't cause major headaches in the Hex..

To me, those are three players who will definitely get a chance to play their way to Germany..

As for other players like Dempsey and Gaven, I'm not sure if Arena is ready to play them just yet.. There is a long line of talented midfielders ahead of these promising pups.. Only injury or suspension at this point will get them playing time IMHO..
