OK, so there aren't many players/coaches left from 1998. Who will be the last player/coach to hold an official position with the Fire?

I say Jesse. No idea why but I get the feeling after he retires he'll be an asst coach or in the front office and one day sometime in the future he'll be our GM/club president/whatever.

    "Me too" posts suck, but...

    Me too.

Also, I put an "s" after "98er" when I really meant "who will be the last 98er (singular) standing". Argh!

I'm gonna say Armas since he just signed a new contract.

Plus, I have a feeling we're gonna lose Marsch in a trade this year, maybe for a keeper.

I think it is a toss up between Jesse and Armas. Now that Chris has signed on long term and is captain I don't see him leaving anytime soon. At the end of the season party last year Jesse was talking about how he felt he was in the best shape of his career. I can see both taking either coaching positions or FO positions when they decide to stop playing.

Well if you think about it....

Dennis Hamlet... is bound to get a head coaching job somehwere someday.

CJ Brown... benched for the end of last season. Could eventually be a cap causality. Or Trade Bait.

Ante Razov... already left once. Could leave again.

Chris Armas... likely to retire before Jesse.

Jesse Marsch... Valuable leader on team. Still has good years left in him.

My sincere thanks to whoever fixed my "98er" mistake.

Should Razov even be eligible since he already left once?

I thought about that but then decided that since

    a) he didn't go to another MLS team

    b) he was gone for less than a season

    c) he was here in 98 and is back here now

    I'd include him.

    As a player: Armas
