According to the regulations listed at the concacaf site the quarterfinal draw will be such that the first place teams are in the same pot, and the second place teams are in the second pot. Two teams from the same country can be drawn against each other in the quarterfinals, but two teams from the same group can not meet until the semifinals at the earliest.
Cruz Azul and Santos Laguna are the favorites in my book. Saprissa, UNAM and Atlante with an outside chance of winning.
'When was the last time a club from outside of Mexico or Costa Rica won a continental competition? My opinion is honest and unbiased. And no, none of the letters in my username stand for any of those two right-wing news organizations.
MSNBC is right wing? Not the last time I checked. Heck maybe they are now, can't say that I watch it. Fox leans right, pretty much everybody else leans left. I prefer NPR because they aren't as bad as any others. Except for that Le Show crap on Sundays.
LOL ur not the only one that hates fox. the only way my team (saprissa) can win is if they avoid santos until the finals. But yeah santos and cruz azul are the clear favorites they are two very talented teams. Sorry mls but even thou i live here in the states my heart will always be in costa rica. Besides besides houston i really havent seen an MLS team that can cause problems.
so now jared thinks that saprissa is better then Pumas? that we have more chances? good, you finally got it

The top goalscorers so far is a Mexican, followed by a guy from trinidad and Tobago, and in third is a Panamanian. Whats up Costa Ricans and Americans? Can't produce forwards that will put the ball in the back of the net?
All three leading scorers are on teams that were in the play in round, and therefore played two extra games than the others.
I think its dumb that concacaf is counting the preliminary round goals, UEFA only counts the group stage and beyond.
Goals by nationality as of Oct 13 (only group stage matches): Mexico - 16 (14 goal scorers) Panama - 10 (6 goal scorers) Honduras - 9 (7 goal scorers) Costa Rica - 6 (5 goal scorers) Guatemala - 6 (3 goal scorers) Paraguay - 6 (5 goal scorers) United States - 6 (3 goal scorers) Trinidad and Tobago - 3 (3 goal scorers) Argentina - 2 (2 goal scorers) Canada - 2 (2 goal scorers) El Salvador - 2 (2 goal scorers) Liberia - 2 (1 goal scorer) Puerto Rico - 2 (2 goal scorers) Uruguay - 2 (1 goal scorer) Antigua and Barbuda - 1 Chile - 1 Colombia - 1 Ecuador - 1 Guyana - 1 Haiti - 1 Italy - 1 Jamaica - 1 Russia - 1 Sierra Leone - 1 The Mexicans are doing well, but then again they have at least two more teams than any other country. The Paraguayans are representing well considering they're not from CONCACAF.
