Hey guys, All the friendlies have been taken care of. Teams have finalized their squads. I realize alot of these groups have polls however votes have been made weeks ago. Please use this new poll to place your final selections. Use your head and not your heart. I am curious how peoples feelings have changed regarding the groups now that we are finally here!
If the FIFA ranking was to be updated today, France would be the underdog https://www.fctables.com/fifa-rankings/ This supports my thoughts that this group is crazy close. There's no result that would honestly surprise me. Maybe if Australia wins the group or if France finishes last.
France and Australia France - Australia 2-0 Peru - Denmark 1-2 Denmark - Australia 0-1 France - Peru 1-1 Australia - Peru 2-2 Denmark - France 0-2 France........................5:1.................7 Australia.....................3:4................4 Denmark.....................2:4................3 Peru............................4:5.................2
I have a feeling that France is somehow going to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, and bomb out, as the best 3rd spot Denmark and Peru
With the past 15 games in a row unbeaten streak in mind, I'm 110% sure that a team like Australia will not be able to beat Denmark ... a draw perhaps ... but they would need more than a miracle to win ... like a red card or injury to Eriksen or something to that effect...
My predictions from the closed thread: France 2 - 0 Australia Peru 1 - 2 Denmark Denmark 1 - 1 Australia France 1 - 0 Peru Denmark 2 - 2 France Peru 1 - 1 Australia France 7 Denmark 5 Australia 2 Peru 1 I've also remarked in another thread that I think this is the Group of Death, since it had the second highest median Elo rating & the second lowest standard deviation (both after Brazil's group), but in this group, unlike in Brazil's, there's not one national team that is far above the other three. We have two technical sides (France, Peru) facing a physical side (Australia) and a physical & technical Denmark. Very hard to predict, on paper France & Peru should be the better sides, but Peru has a very hard match-up versus Denmark, and France is going to have a lot of trouble with the Aussie defensive, brawny style (as they had with the USA).

Obviously a good round for France and Denmark, but I think that Australia should be satisfied as well. A one goal loss to France and a narrow win in the other game. They have a very good chance still. Imagine two draws in the next round.
