I assume the US but it's unclear.

Watching Ghana they remind me of ten Freddy Adus. I'm sure that's overstating things but the similarities are striking, at least to me.

considering this is the team that he has before represnted and may end up representing in the future as well I'd say USA. If not then I will question his judgement

The USA, no question about it. If not for love of country, for love of his friends on the team. Sucks they're playing his native country, but there's no way he will root the other way.

Yeah he's really good friends with most of the team, especially the younger guys. And I think it's safe to say he's probably never even met most of Ghana's team. So I think he's going to root for his friends.

He's captied to the US via a World Cup qualifier (if memory serves), so even if he suddenly says he's Ghanian, he ain't changin his FIFA status...

Yeah doesn't really matter but if he goes out of his way to say he supports Ghana that's probably going to end up in the blogosphere...if I were him I would just do a Twitter blackout for Saturday :)

This is the second best response. The best would be "Who really cares about Freddy Adu?"

The question is "Does Freddy Adu ever want to be welcomed into the national team ever again?"

    Just saying.

what i meant was in the future was that he is not currently on the roster and in the future he may find himself back on the roster

actually, given how things have turned out for Nevin and Guiseppe...maybe Freddy should come out for Ghana, just so we can keep that reverse karma thing goin'...

I supported Czech both times when we lost :)

Although I don't know what country I'd play for if I had the choice

I never really had this problem since Drunken Hillbillyland has never qualified for a World Cup (though we were really disappointed when Mathis decided to play for the USA).

Thats harsh question. I personally can relate with Adu, I was born in Uruguay, enjoy my youth there, then I was force to move USA & I fell in love with US Military, proud of being part of Honor Guard and my US Navy. I personally dislike watching Uruguay vs USA, I tend lean to a bit more Uruguay in this World Cup because melocholia of Uruguayans of having so many failures with national team, listen "Cielo de un solo color". But USA making to semi would still bring tears of happiness to me.

how is this even a question? he plays for the US. is he really going to root against his own team? if that's the case, i'd prefer he never turn into the player we all hoped he become, good riddance. but i highly doubt that would be the case

Adu isn't traitor, he's just a confused immature 21 year old. But if he really means it, he doesn't deserve to wear a shirt with a US Soccer crest.

He tweeted that during the first half (or at the half) of the Germany / Ghana match -- check the time stamp. It may well have been in response to people saying he should hope for a Germany win, so that the US would avoid Germany. That's how I interpreted it at the time, anyway.

I suspect he'll hope for a US win, since he will be PLAYING for the US. But nevertheless cool with a Ghana win should it happen.

I do find it uncanny watching Ghana insofar as it looked like a bunch of Freddy's running around. A bad thing for the US, actually.

If Ghana looks like a bunch of Freddy Adus running around we will most certainly win this match...no offense to Freddy of course ;)

Thats for sure! C'mon be more kind to Ghana they've got players who actually play regularly in Europe.
