I’m curious as to who you guys think should replace this cabrón. Should we get another manager from South America, find one from México or try and get one from Europe como Portugal o España?
I’ve always like Andre Villas-Boas, and Almeyda wouldn’t be bad either considering what he did with a perhaps very average Chivas side. If we do get a European, I’d prefer they be Spanish, even Portuguese or Italian to where there’s some sort of understand with our football and obviously the language.
I hope to God it's not Villas-Boas, if he's a serious option then we might as well go with Almeyda. At least he's knows Mexican futbol and has coached here. This is coming from a dude who doesn't even like Almeyda as an option either.
Almeyda, but with the way he got booted out of Chivas I think he's going to wait for a Euro club. If Bielsa wasn't such a head case then he'd be on top of my list, but he's the type of guy that would quit before the next WCQ's start.
I’d prefer Almeyda at Chivas but that club is currently a shit storm So in that case for the NT I’d go with Bielsa or Almeyda Turco as well but he just signed with a Spanish club so he’s out of my favs
Villas Boas would be an awful choice for Mexico and hiring him would be proof that FMF doesn't actually look for realistic choices that behoove the National Team, but rather bombastic names that give the impression they are avant garde and forward thinking.
Apparently Osorio told the media that he thinks Bielsa should be the next manager at Leeds United jajajajajaja
According to statistics, in order for a National Team to win a World Cup, it has always been with a head coach who is of that country... 2014: Joachim Löw - Germany (German) 2010: Vicente del Bosque - Spain (Spanish) 2006: Marcello Lippi - Italy (Italian) 2002: Luiz Felipe Scolari - Brazil (Brazilian) 1998: Roger Lemerre - France (French) 1994: Carlos Alberto Parreira Brazil (Brazilian) 1990: Franz Beckenbauer West Germany (German) 1986: Carlos Bilardo - Argentina (Argentine) 1982: Enzo Bearzot - Italy (Italian) 1978: Cesar Luis Menotti - Argentina (Argentino) 1974: Helmut Schon - Germany (German) 1970: Mario Zagallo - Brazil (Brazilian) 1966: Alf Ramsey - England (English) 1962: Aymore Moreira - Brazil (Brazilian) 1958: Vicente Feola - Brazil (Brazilian) 1954: Sepp Herberger - West Germany (Germany) 1950: Juan Lopez Fontana - Uruguay (Uruguayan) 1938: Vittorio Pozzo - Italy (Italian) 1934: Vittorio Pozzo - Italy (Italian) 1930: Alberto Horacio Suppici - Uruguay (Urguayan)
Just rewatched mexico vs. crotia 2014 last night. I miss BASED PIOJO AT THE HELM. This is coming from a chivas fan
Certainly shows us how far we are from the powerhouses of Football when Piojo is the best we have to offer. Will get there I guess, maybe when I'm 80
I prefer a bad tactician but get the best of his players rather than osorio’s cluedo tactics. C’mon 2014 WC was a very inspiring campaign #noerapenal
