    Mexico
    1st half

Mexico wa apparently more than ready for Brazil. They totally dominated Brazil , and could of been winning by a huge margin. Mexico showed pretty good skills . Brazil passed the ball back to Dida more than 10 times.

    2nd half-no words to desribe it..offal

Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Mexico's finishing was awful last night. Ronaldo was asleep. It was a mind numbingly boring match. It gave me no indication on how the US-Mexico matchup might go.

How many shots did Borgetti miss? I couldn't believe it. Mexico looked ready to play but just couldn't finish. Brazil played very uninspired, and Ronaldo looked like he'd have rather been anywhere else but playing that game. How many shots did he SHANK!! at least two. He got one chance in the same way Twellman buried his shot last weekend and Ronaldo shanks it way left.

I don't know about you guys but Mexico looked pretty good. If that was any indication of how they play with the U.S. then I'm a little worried.

I disagree about it being a boring game. I really enjoyed it, and thought it was very entertaining. It's clear that some of the players are out of form, but still it was good. Fast action, good one-touch play, end-to-end soccer.

Ronaldo blew some easy chances, as did Borguetti. I thought Mexico deserved to win. Still I think we'll beat them in Houston. Should be an excellent game.

What do you mean! The Mexicans played their asses off last night. If they're burning rubber like this in Houston they're going to run the U.S. off the field. Especially since our lineup is as uninspiring as to yet again contain guys like Mathis. As someone who's seen this guy in action live twice so far this season, forget it!

I just read the reports and all say it was Mexico in the first half and none in the second!

Mexico was absolutely fantastic last night. A bit better finishing and they beat Brasil 7-0. I am a bit worried when we face them. If they play like that we could be sunk, unless of course they put every shot wide again.

Brazil didn't play inspired at all, yes Mexico played better, but I got the impression that Brazil didn't want to be there. I think Brazil should have brought a full domestic side instead of calling in Ronaldo and Ronaldinho Gaucho and such.

I wouldn't worry about the U.S. match, it is only a friendly, nothing more. Lets jsut see how some players play together.

Mexico has been playing like this ever since Lavolpe took over. I must say I'm a bit worried.

I've got to believe the US will play a lot more inspired than Brazil did. I was surprised to see so much speed from Mexico, but we've got a few speedsters too. Should be a good game.

I disagree this is the best match for Lavolpe's team, vs Argentina looked terrible!

....need strong midfielders for USMNT, players who can hold the ball and spread it all over directions, i'm not worry about our finishers

I don't remember who said it earlier, but it bears repeating:

"There's very little if anything we can learn from playing Mexico right now, but I still enjoy beating them."

I don't care what they bring as long as we bring more (unless it's own goals of course.)

The U.S. better tie a pillow around its backside, because it's gonna get kicked.

No one doubts that. Butts always get kicked in kung fu.

I will say, however, that I was impressed by Medina and Morales. They could be trouble.

Rafico Marquez doesn't scare me. I can't wait to see him get med-flighted off the field after Cobi snaps his femur.

I was not impressed with Mexico. I was horrified by Brazil's attitude and level of play, but a uninspired Ronaldinho literally dribbled through several Mexican defenders. Mexico couldn't convert any of their many chances. Considering Brazil's disasterous ball control and passing, Mexico should have crushed them. No dice. Mexico is not a goal scoring team. U.S should have no problem.

Its called a bad day and yes most fowards usually have a few during their careers. They certainly won't have two bad games in a row. The US defense had better be more awake than the Brazil defense was.

By the way, it looked like Lavolpe went through about five packs of cigarettes. He was puffing like a madman!

I want to see if the Reliant Stadium staff asks him to put out his ciggies. That alone may be worth the price of admission. ;)

They didn't say anything to him when Mexico played at San Diego or Dallas.

    cough! hack! cough!

Yeah, but Reliant has a roof that will probably be closed - and with all the smoke that Lavolpe generates over two hours, we could all suffocate in there. :D
