I just listened to the Arsecast podcast this morning and noted they said the Arsenal.com feed failed miserably. Did others experience that as well?

I watched the entire match using the Arsenal.com feed and had no issues. Was it just in the UK where there were issues? I live in the states. I also tuned in nearly a full hour prior to the start of the match, so it could be that I was one of the earliest streamers and never got dropped? (is that even a thing?)

Anyway, I was pretty disappointed that I had to pay to watch preseason matches, I can only imagine how pissed people were to have paid and were NOT able to watch.

The match on Wednesday vs. Betis will be on CBS Sports Network and Paramount+ in the states.

There doesn't appear to be any information about watching either the Dortmund or Como matches, other than via Arsenal.com.

There's sound reason to actually be optimistic with the swift action the club took to make it right.

In service and entertainment industries, there's a compelling case for businesses to [even intentionally] screw up and then use that adverse situation to build loyalty by demonstrating empathy and making things right. If anyone has watched the TV series, The Bear, it's based on Will Guidara's life and experiences. Guidara owned the top-rated restaurant in the world and he has repeatedly stated how much he is a strong proponent of the idea of leveraging failures to prove to a customer how much they are valued to win them back. Those customers routinely become a business's biggest and most dedicated advocates.

Sorry - I'm a business nerd and I couldn't just let that comment go without a counterpoint.

Why is Saka playing at all? I'm starting to question Arteta's supposedly better judgement.

Oh my, I know I saw a highlight on my feed. I'll have to blame the time (1am). Could have sworn I saw a highlight of a recent game and he's playing.
    Thanks for the correction.

    Interesting "counterpoint".

But I have an extremely hard time imagining that the club's streaming service failure happened in anything close to an accepting or "even intentional" way. Similarly I have a hard time imagining this is nothing but a substantial PR net-negative for the club in relation to the fans.

It sounds like their streaming platform was unfit or unready for duty. But to their credit (as my previous post said in fewer words) they owned the problem and are issuing automatic refunds to everyone, losing all that revenue.

I worked for J&J in the 80's, not long after the famous Tylenol tampering incident, in which their corporate response became an HBS case-study if I'm not mistaken, in how to manage a PR disaster, preserve reputation, confidence and restore customer loyalty. However much short-term expense that led to at the time.

I'll defer to how others feel. I was actually able to stream the entire game--incident free--via Arsenal.com.

Good point. But the sense I get from hearing from others, e.g. Arseblog, is that your positive experience may have been quite rare. The club's mea culpe seems to imply that as well.

In any case, I'm glad today's match is supposed to be on CBSSN & P+ :D

I am much more curious whether / if our last 2 preseason matches will be available to watch anywhere, if at all?
