    Cipriani ended up with Bologna after opening the envelopes and Romano with Pro Patria, but Juventus got Maietta from Perugia.

    BTW, Dante, do you know how the envelope process works? I believe the two teams put in blind bids, and the player goes to the higher bidder. Does the higher bidder then own 100% of the player?

    Yes, the winner owns the full contract of the player. They can then do what they want with it.

    So what determines whether they go to envelopes - just that the two sides cannot come to an agreement otherwise? Sort of a simple arbitration method?
