But nowadays... this assist ... of Pelé is computed ...also !! .. 2 Assists ... 1958 .. .... 1 Assist ... 1962 .... 6 Assists ... 1970 .. ... 3 assists ... in Finals ! 1958 and 1970
Yes, I guess that's why it's always a good idea for anybody to specify the method used and/or give a detailed breakdown of how the assists (or pre-assists) occured.
Yes, and in this case the assist of Pele to Jairzinho vs Czechoslovakia does qualify as an Opta assist of course (so historically Opta-standard is not actually the most narrow one...but probably in modern usage it could be the most narrow one that would be cited in current football as obviously it excludes rebounds, penalties won and suchlike that some other sources like Transfermarkt don't).
Gento a la or like Ronaldo Nazario .. ! what a performance by Gento ... Gento better than Arjen Robben !
He must be one of the quickest players in history I guess! I think he has some similarity in speed and running with the ball, with Claudio Caniggia or young Ryan Giggs for example (those, especially Caniggia I would say being probably better at keeping the ball under control, but maybe his acceleration is even the best out of them, even if it's hard to be sure when he played so long ago maybe, in real terms): Anyway, yes, a bit similar to Ronaldo too, due to the speed with and without the ball (I think especially in Gento's case without the ball, when he has kicked it ahead, it is clear how much quicker he was than opponents). I feel like between Gento and Czibor that Czibor was probably the more tricky and clever one with his dribbles (though still quick) and Gento the one who was better when being more direct (though also with some skills used with turns, backheel passes etc). I'd find it tricky to say I think Gento>Robben; I guess it can be a close call, even if hard to compare directly when they played in different eras maybe. Maybe it is easier to suggest Robben would be better from the right wing and Gento better from the left wing position (speeding down the outside, crossing, feinting and passing inside etc).
10. Compilation of iconic tap-ins🤩https://t.co/XwKqX9h2Jz— CristianoXtra (@CristianoXtra_) September 7, 2024 Messi doesn't have any comparable strikes with his strong foot and this is Ronaldo's weak foot
...... tonight i saw all boring 414 goals ... Of Ronaldo Nazario in whole career mode ... honestly... didn't impress me in nothing .. honestly .. i don't have nothing against him .. when i was a kid ,, or teenager in Brazil he was idol as well .... as Gullit ... Maradona ..Van Basten.... Platini ... Giovanni Santos FC .. ...... @NelloPotri-gw6we há 10 meses @seraqueeusourealmenteobode31 No it was not like Nazario because I don't remember the goals of Nazario in whole career. Pretty average goals therefore forgettable. Van Basten did something legendary and unforgettable, in a total of 8 goal for the Netherlands, he scored 5 assisted 1 and got rewarded a penalty. The Serie A was won also because of Van Basten, the wonderful goal against Empoli and the tap in against Napoli have been the key for victory and goals in all career ... . says the media ... World press and Marketing on Ronaldo Nazario ... the best centerforward of the History .. without overheadkicks ..and higher volleys .. goals ... ??? for me for sure not not not ... never never never .. https://www.tiktok.com/@futebolarte.mp4/video/7239130143711563014 Antonio Careca ex Napoli player ... always ...spoken... that Ronaldo Nazario ... had too much physical strenght ..... but not too technical skills .
Probably that goal is up there among his best ones I think (although also kind of a typical goal by him at the same time) - I guess if we pause at 0:18 then in modern terms the expected goal value is not high at that moment. Also some very good play towards the end by him I would say: 5:22, 5:35, 5:48. Playing on a dodgy pitch (also for the defenders though to be fair) of course too.
