Rumors say that we are going to get a true #10 that most american soccer fans know of.. Is it possibly Henry? Or maybe someone else like a Freddy Adu?

Any news when it will be final?

Hopefully he's more productive than the last guy that we were supposedly "going to like".. Brian Nielsen.

Nielsen is a wing player in the midfield. Just because he was injured a bit, doesn't mean he is a dud. He showed flashes of brilliance in the US Open Cup matches and his first match against the Union.

The problem has been the center of the field giving service to the forwards. Once we see who this mystery player is, then we will see what he can do.

I'd poop myself if we got Deco. Is there any actual link to him or are you just wishing?

99.99% chance you are right on that one.

Henry is not a midfielder, so NY hasn't lost out on him just yet.

We woulda had Ballack as well as Henry.

I almost typed "we woulda had Ballack on top of Henry" but it didn't seem like the best phrasing...

    Thanks for that. Much appreciated.

There was one post in this thread that had mentioned Henry as the player RB was chasing but couldn't get. I'm sure there are others in the world who read the MLS article and, without being knowledgeable about European soccer, would think Henry is some creative midfielder who wears #10. That's all I'm referring to.

Maybe we are trying to get a player from the EPL that are basically bankrupt and selling their guys. Like Liverpool FC, they are in huge debt and maybe they'll sell a player like Maxi Rodriguez?

I can't see Maxi giving up on top level competition quite yet.

And yeah Nedved is at least 67 years old.

Riquelme is still available--if we signed him we would do well.
