Dani Alves or Maicon, I'm partial to Dani since he has great skill, pace, is hardworking, and a great tackler.

This season Dani Alves was by far the best RB in the world if you consider attacking game , if you consider defensive game then thats another story.

Considering that a RB cant be measured on just his attacking abilities, then Maicon was clearly the best RB over the 2008/09 season.

deployed as a wingback in a 5 man defense (two wingbacks + 3 cbs), i think Alves would be better than Lahm.

Barcelona won their triple with Alves in a 4 man defense. I don't think Lahm could have done any better.

In a wingback role, right now Alves is the better choice. Lahm is clearly the better fullback but to play the devil's advocate, we haven't really seen Lahm
s full attacking ability, even in his preferred role on the right (which he will play this coming season) because he's always been coupled with crock defenses.

Maicon. Dunga starts him instead of Alves for a reason.

So just because Dunga thinks Maicon is better, then he is better. Well, I think that Alves is better, as do many other (more respected) people. Does that make him better?

    Dunga also starts Gilberto Silva...

But in one point you are right: Dunga has a reason... we just don't know it :D (despite right-back is a much more comfortable position for him to choose a player)

Maicon makes Brazil look a lot more dangerous, that's for sure. The man's a tank.
