Farve, no dobt in my opinion. Get him another two rings in the next 5 years (that I assume he'll be playing) and I'll mark him down as the best QB of all time. I'm a huge Farve guy. How many players have gotten 3 MVP's? 4-5 MVP's and 3 superbowl rings will no doubt do it for me. Right now I'll put him behind Montana and Unitas as best of all time.

You're obviously not a huge enough Favre guy to spell his name correctly.

Actually I would have spelled it right had I not been hammered when I posted that.

It would have been funnier if you had said Dilfer.

Don't get me wrong. I'm hip to Fahvreh, but it's blasphemy not to mention Elway in the top three.

As far as this year, according to the quarterback ratings, which don't neccesarily mean anything, Favre is listed as 1 with a 102.5 rating and freakin' Holcomb is in at 2 with a 101.9.

    1. Joey Harrington
    2. Tommy Maddox

I'm also going out on a limb to say Joey Harrington will end up recognized as the greatest QB in NFL history. It will happen, mark my words. Bookmark this post.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Akili Smith yet.

Huh? Ok, since you can't list 5 QB's in the top 3, so who are you bumping off the list? Marino gets the nod on top of Elway, dude holds like every QB passing record. And before SB rings are mentioned, keep in mind that Trent Dilfer has a SB ring. Rings don't make a QB, and QB's don't make Superbowls.

    The way I see it...

    First Tier
    ---------
    Montana
    Unitas

    Second Tier
    -----------
    Where Favre will be remembered
    Marino
    Elway
    Young

    Third Tier
    ---------
    Everyone else

    Ok, commence the flaming.

Well, if the guy isn't even going to pronounce his own name correctly this has to be expected.

Troy Aikman was not anywhere near the top QBs in history. He was a good, solid player and a strong leader, but hardly one of the best ever. Terry Bradshaw had 4 rings and isn't listed. The most underrated QB in history, and in my mind the best ever, was Roger Staubach. And, I hate the Cowboys worse than almost anything.
