I was wondering which female soccer player inspires people and why.... I am inspired most by Kristine Lilly. Her entire attitude towards soccer and life is motivating. Her work ethic puts me in awe and her commitment to the mundane details is awesome!! The things she writes in her journals are amazingly reflective...I have many as quotes around my room and on my door for people to read. Kristine humbles me....I can't put into words the impact she has had on my life. Her work ethic is what I admire most, I think, we can all take a page from the amazing Kristine. I also think Carla Overbeck is awesome! Her passion and drive and commitment to excellence are awesome. I often think of the story of the girls training and they are all exhausted and Carla asking for more laps or whatever they were doing. It shows that to be the best in the world you have to be anxious to give that little extra and want to do whatever it takes to be the best you can!!
Maren Meinert Her passing and creativity is just sublime. I learned a lot by watching her play. And I'm a guy too. I don't think many guys would say they learned a thing or two from watching a womens match.
The caliber player Michelle Akers was, despite the fact she played the game while coping with Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Tiffeny Milbrett's talent and style of play, the way she approaches the game, her speed, her finishes and her ability to speak her mind on and off the field. These two women are extremely inspiring to me.
