    TV Legends 1-0 Bayside High
    Factor Road Stadium
    Att: 43,317

TV Legends came out swinging after being beaten by Bayside at Bayside Municipal Stadium in March. In a lineup built for speed the legends handed Pat Sajak his first start of the season along side Jerry Springer in attack with Ron Killings relegated to a spot on the bench.

The first shot in anger came from Legends skipper Richard Nixon who turned Eric Matthews before unleashing a blast that rattled Alan Matthews' goal. It wasn't long before the Legends would produce a goal, Nixon cutting inside a hapless Dick Belding before laying the ball off to Bill O'Reilly who appeared to mis-hit his shot which flopped into the box before being headed toward goal by Springer and eventually toe poked home by Sajak. Bayside would quickly recover and nearly caught the Legends sleeping had it not been for Montel Williams' timely intervention on Shawn Hunter, Williams even managed to collect the ball and hoof it toward O'Reilly who got beyond Jack Hunter before being cruelly brought down by George Feeny, a challenge which resulted in a booking for the Tigers' midfield man.

The first half would look like the previous match with the ball bogged down in midfield and Bayside hoping for a counter attack, however TV Legends were wise to the plan this time and kept four men back to thwart any breakaways.

As the teams came out for the second half with no changes it was obvious Merv Griffin had given the better team talk as his side came out on fire with Springer hitting the bar and Oprah forcing an athletic save from Alan Matthews. Bayside would continue to struggle against Montel Williams who was giving a masterclass in defending. Player-manager Zach Morris looked to use Screech's pace to exploit Judge Judy up the left but only saw his star winger repeatedly hacked down, the referee eventually booking the legends fullback for foul play. Judy would later make way for the quicker Arthur Fonzarelli. Morris was forced to go to plan-B when Hunter pulled up with a knee complaint and brought on 6-foot-3 Steve Hale as a target man. Again the plan would fail as Hale was lacking in size, strength, and quality when compared to Williams.

One last, desperate throw-of-the-dice would see Steve Urkle make his first appearance since being cleared in the case of a quadruple murder. Urkle would create one chance which Montel would sweep off the line to complete his man-of-the match performance. Soon after Urkle's flourish disaster struck for Bayside as Nixon pranced beyond Slater leaving Alan Matthews with no choice but to throw himself at the ball taking out the Legends talisman in the process. A straight red card for the 39-year-old Philadelphia born keeper on his 850th start for the club. The red card meant that Alan's son Eric was sacrificed to bring in the untested Eddie Winslow who would face Nixon's penalty. However, Winslow was in luck as Nixon rolled his penalty wide.

The game still had one chance in it as Sajak's replacement Ron Killings set up a Larry Flynt raid which would end in the porn mogul putting the ball high.

I too have a football/soccer blog. It is based on Club Atletico River Plate. I was going to make it in Spanish, but due to the huge amounts of info about the team in that language, and the very little sources in English, I decided to make it in English for those who don't speak spanish.

TV Legends batter Right Wing to lift 63rd Cup
TV Legends 4-1 FK Right Wing

After casting aside rivals Bayside in the semi-final TV Legends were looking to win their trophy back, but they would have to do it without their leading scorer after Jerry Springer failed a late fitness test on his injured right knee. His injury forced the Legends to get creative with their formation, option for an attacking 4-5-1 with Ron Killings as the target man. Meanwhile FK Right Wing made no changes from the side which defeated the Liberals in extra time a fortnight ago.

The Right Wing started out doing all the right things, confusing most of the Legends defense but couldn't find a way past John McLaughlin on the rare occasions they got by Montel Williams. Pat Sajak with playing a withdrawn roll but found it hard to get by Ari Fleischer who was acting as the anchor in the Right Wing midfield.

The scrappy affair would soon heat up with Ron Killings dropping into midfield to pick up the ball and running right at the back four, Killings used his impeccable close control to pull the defense out of position before putting a cool ball across the center of the box to find Oprah who had no problem finding the back of Rick Santourm's net to make it 1-0. It was the first cup goal of the season for the Legends' number 8 following a moment of magic from the number 88. Spurred on by the goal the Legends seemed to have new life, chasing down the ball straight from the kickoff Ron Killings' pinpoint pass found the dashing Sajak who was brought down in a moment of madness from Trent Lott. Richard Nixon would make it 2-0 following a penalty save by Santourm, a worrying sight for the Legends as Nixon has now missed 4 in a row.

It appeared that TV Legends were cruising to the cup when the Ultimate Warrior made a school boy error in misjudging the height of a George H.W. Bush cross that Pat McCrory toe poked by McLaughlin to make it 2-1. TV Legends didn't seem to bothered by the goal and continued to push for a third, Bill O'Reilly seeing an effort crash off the post just before halftime.

The halftime break did see a change, Billy Bush replaced the invisible Joe Scarbrough in a effort to provide better service for McCrory and Conrad Burns.

The second half started as the first ended, with TV Legends pulling the Right Wing defense apart and causing headaches in the midfield, Sajak looked to have an unlimited supply of energy as he bewildered Ari Fleischer again and again, this was evident 10 minutes in as Sajak blew by Fleisher and Bush before finding an unmarked Killings who made no mistake as he ended his three month goal drought in spectacular fashion.

Right Wing would make two more substitutions in an effort to find anything that could stop the TV Legends onslaught but nothing worked as TV Legends would find a fourth and final goal in stoppage time, Sajak scoring the best of the lot after receiving a pinpoint pass from Killings he lifted the ball over the charging Santourm to watch it dip right under the bar.

TV Legends: 30. John McLaughlin; 2. Larry Flynt, 5. Montel Williams, 6. Ultimate Warrior, 33. Judge Judy; 10. Bill O'Reilly, 4. Larry Elder, 8. Oprah, 19. Richard Nixon (captain), 7. Pat Sajak; 88. Ron Killings
Unused Subs: 1. Alex Trebek (GK), 21. John Kasich, 27. Donald Trump, 99. Joey Greco, 20. Arthur Fonzarelli.
Goals: Oprah 31', Nixon 40', Killings 56', Sajak 90'+ (Nixon missed pen 39')

FK Right Wing: 1. Rick Santourm; 34. Karl Rove (9. Dennis Hastert 67'), 5. Trent Lott, 6. George W. Bush, 3. Condoleezza Rice; 7. Jeb Bish (22. Tom DeLay 80'), 32. Ari Fleischer, 14. Joe Scarbrough (13. Billy Bush 45'); 26. Conrad Burns (captain), 11. Pat McCrory, 4. George H.W. Bush
Unused Subs: 25. Tom Selleck (GK), 19. George Allen
    Goals: McCrory 42'
    Booked: Rove 41' (dissent)
