Who framed Saddam Rabbit?

I don't think we've discussed this here...the "proof" we had that Iraq had gotten uranium from Niger was forged.

Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, the agency's executive director, said the experts found anomalies in the signatures, the letterhead and the format of the document. He told the Security Council on Friday that the forgery had been compared with authentic documents provided by Niger.

In an interview today, he said that any number of groups would have had an interest in planting the document, which he said came to him from several sources. It was quoted in a report from British intelligence services last year as Britain and the United States sought to build their case for disarming Iraq.

This puts me in mind of Bruce Arena's wry quote after the groups were drawn for the Olympics in '96..."We can't even rig a draw right."

Is it possible that the forgery happened in the process of getting the uranium out?

I mean, there is only false proof of such a transaction, so who falsified it? The guys wanting to make Iraq look bad or the guys who had no authority to transfer the uranium?

Regardless of position, we should be asking the real important question...does Niger have any missing uranium?
