I think we might see Ronaldinho in the number 9 shirt next season. He really wants to move to a bigger club and be able to play in the European big stage. As to Tim Howard, he probably doesn't want to go to England only to be a backup keeper so he'll be here only if Barthez, whom I like by the way, leaves. As to why would Barthez leave, I have no idea, as I thought he performed fantastically this season. The only reason might be that he's getting old, but then he's not THAT old especially for a keeper so I dunno.

Isn't Barthez as good as gone?

yeah, he'd probably go to psg and maybe there will be a switch with ronaldinhio, beats me why fergie wants him out, he performed very well this season. that save against liverpool will be one that i remeber for a long time. if oldness is the issue, we are not getting kahn surely.

Ronaldinho is a number 10. And it's more likely he will go to Spain. If Man U get him that will be a major achievement.

I think these days it's all about the players personal terms then CRAZY transfer fees.

I think it'll be very rare indeed to see players sold for more than 20million in the close season...i mean imagine trying to keep a player at your club who says he wants to go.. e.g Ronaldinho..PSG would have every right to expect 30million or even more for him but in the current climate he may go for as little as 10million!!

If the player wants to go and refuses to give his all for your team anymore you may as well cash in on them...if you bench them you're paying wages for an asset that will devalue majorly by the end of the season if he's not playing much..So it's feasible that if Ferguson has 30-40 million and gets his hustle right he could get 4 superb talents in for a relatively small price. Thats why i put down 4 players really

youre largely correct but ronaldinho is not going for 10M unless a player or two go the other way - there are still a handful of players in the world who, if sold within the next year, would go for 20M+ due to their combo of youth (some only to a degree), influence and marketibility

key: NGH=not that its gonna happen!

    ronaldinho (manU?)
    ronaldo (NGH)
    henry (NGH)
    beckham (real?)
    van der vaart (barca?)
    nesta (NGH)
    owen (NGH)

    some 15M types:
    deco (real?)
    chivu (arsenal?)
    shevchenko (manU?)
    kaka (milan?)
    ballack (bayern STOLE him)
    d'alessandro (juve?)

    Youre right sir!

    ManU needs:

1-a real keeper, Friedel or Recber (both world class)

2- to sign a reinforcement for the defense so a CB is likely maybe Christian Chivu or Philippe Mexes (both quality defenders)

3- to replace an aging Keane, so I say Davids (wants to earn more $ ) or Geremi (he's cheap and Real want to sell if the right offer comes)

4-a forward withdrawn to partner horse face I'd say Ronaldinho (we all know he wants to play for a powerhouse) or Kluivert (please help me get rid of him!)

you have to consider that PSG aren't really in a position to bargain here. Ronaldinho's agents hold all the cards and it's down to the player to pick and choose where he'll go. For example

Juventus offer PSG 30million for him and decent personal terms
Real offer 20 million and above average personal terms
Man U offer 10million and a ridiculous wage for the player

If he's money fuelled he's off to MAn U regardless of what the club would like which would of course be the 30mill..the player can play such hardball basically having the club by the nuts as long as he is still under contract. Cos he can just say 'nope i'm not going anywhere..' sit on his ass and wait out his last year of the contract then leave on a Free Transfer...no club wants that so they'd accept 10million rather then nothing at all.

PSG are in no position to bargain with anyone not even the player.. they can't give him the wages he will get elsewhere, they have no CL football so basically Ronaldinho's got em by the nutz lol...Having said all that Spainish clubs offer the clubs handsome fees and pay players really well - so even on that count Spain is the likely destination.

Actually I remember an interview in which Raul said that if he ever leaves RM he only would sign for ManU!
