There have been debates popping up around BigSoccer about who to blame for our failures this season. So, I was curioius. Who do the majority of fans blame? How can we fix our issues? Hopefully this can be a constructive thread.

why? I'm sure he has something to say in this whole thing. You can't be an assistant manager and have no blame.

I blame EVERYBODY. The club, the coaching staff, the manager, and the players.

For the main blamee, please see the Avram Grant thread....... :p

Can I also blame The Sun?

Also, I'd like to blame Quaresma.

Finally I blame myself for thinking of this season as any sort of failure. Cup Final. At least QF Champions League, competitive in the Premiership? Call me a plastic and have done with it. Gits.

It might be the first time in 4 years the club hasn't won anything in the season, so yes it will be a failure if they don't.

To be honest, Chelsea can still win the Premiership and Champions League. I hope they do because it will shut everyone up who've been writing off Chelsea.

Not quite a sucess though either, really.

It is one thing to be a hard fighting side exceeding or equalling its capabilities, despite shortcomings and those caused by the idiocy of the suits, well somethings never change, like sometimes in the past, it is another to squander our rare time with full resources and players who have the proven quality to dominate all-comers and win silver in record breaking fashion.

But still to call it a failure? Just about every other team in the league would happily take this "failure" of a season. I hate Grant as much as anyone but this season is far from a failure. Say we finish second in the league and go out to Fenerbache, it's still a success figuring we changing managers in Oct and have a had piece meal squad for much of the season.

I agree with Eddie. We've been damn lucky this season. Other teams would kill to be in our position and you know something? Andy's right, we are starting to turn into a bunch of Newcastle fans. Just enjoy the ride, I sure am.

Actually I was not calling it a failure, I do see your point a bit, I was calling it "Not quite a sucess though" and especially in cups thus far...well that is a failure, considering who we faced...

"a piece meal squad" Carv, Bridge or Cole, Cech or Carlo, Paulo or Belleti, JT or Alex when Jt hurt, Mak, Ess, Ballack half the year, Lamp 2/3 the year, Obi, Drogs, JOEY HE'S HERE, HE'S THERE HE'S EVERY ********ING WHERE, Kalou, all but 1 or 2 sides if that many would kill for that squad so no excuses...

Nope - you need to also mention that Quaresma will solve all of the worlds ills.
