Gotta root against the yellow football team. Now that the playoffs have changed and the first 2 rounds are all within conference, we really don't care what the West does in the regular season. So here's hoping the Crew start off 0-2.
I agree. The new playoff format nudges me toward rooting for Western Conf. teams when playing East teams other than Revs, and rooting for anyone playing an Eastern Conf. opponent higher than we are in the table.
Here's my theory: The way playoffs are set up this year, the West and East aren't competing. The top 4 teams in each division make the playoffs. So...being a Fire fan, if the Crew, Revs, DCU, or Metro are playing a West team, I should root for the West team in order to deprive the East teams of points. Does that make sense? But goodness. It's LA. I mean.....I might be impartial on this one.
The only thing I care about is seeing what this Buddle is all about. Many on the US Nats forum think he's the second coming while they slam TnT. Lets just see if he's all that.

It makes sense to root for LA, but that's tough to do. A nice, ugly scoreless draw works well for me!
