    What a load of sh1te!!

The worst display of reffing from the ever useless English referee

He failed to punish all the ridiculously cynical Croatian tackles , failed to give that handball penalty .. in fact the guy was booked then handled unintentionally in the box ( still a penalty though ) then committed two more bookable fouls that went unpunished . Then the ref fell for a ridiculous dive to get Casemiro booked that reduced his effectiveness .

Moderic body checked and stamped on his teammates ( Rodrygos foot halting a breakaway attack and left the Brazilian limping - Modric not even booked
The only bonus was it makes it more easier for Messi to win the World Cup !

    I hate those bloody Croatians

Did I detect here a hidden Messi fanboy?

Now I get why you predicted a 5-0 win for Argentina over the Netherlands.....

I know that most Argie fans don't deserve this, but I won't mind if they win this WC. Just to shut up the Eurosnobs of this forum.

You're ok in my book, dear.

I'm missing some Albanian poster who predicted Argentina had no chance against the Dutch. Maybe he is choking after reading the fine words the Argies are saying about him in their forum. :D

I can't deny Croatia credit for getting the job done, but I stand by what I said a few days ago. It would IMO have been better if Brazil had advanced instead.

Some final thoughts about my predicted finalists...

Spain did not impress me at the Euro 2020 aside from the Italy game. However, I thought Luis Enrique just needed more time to develop the team and improve its deficiencies. Unfortunately, it looks like they regressed instead and often looked like caricatures of themselves with the lack of quality in the final third. I am annoyed with the incessant passing and the new coach they've hired is going to be even worse. Future not looking bright for Spain.

As for Netherlands, I had them as my pre-tournament favourite to win the World Cup. For that reason, I probably wrote more posts pertaining to them than any other team in this forum. Sad to say, I was dead wrong about Oranje. Their game against USA turned out to NOT be a sign of better football ahead; instead it went back to the group stage form. Honestly, I don't care that they made an insane comeback and took it all the way to penalties.

The football was just so drab and full of passing errors that they didn't deserve to advance. The tactic became hoofing the ball and barely doing anything interesting in midfield. They could have had Croatia as a semifinal opponent. It was such a good opportunity to go all the way. I am so done with LvG's Netherlands at this point, and it's not like Koeman excites me particularly either. I mean, what's next, Advocaat and Hiddink? Anyway, I have no problem admitting I was wrong, not only in result (losing to Argentina after pens is not dishonourable in itself), but also performances.

With all my main predicitons gone, I can finally just watch the remaining games with the relaxed attitude of a neutral. Well, I am kinda rooting for Portugal to lift the trophy. They've never even been to a WC final, they deserve for it to happen because of the talent development in the past 30 years or so. A good example of slowly rising to the top of football after decades in the dark.

The best way to determines who going to win the World Cup is rooting for the underdog team all the way to the finals,
