You know, the target forwards who are counted on to win the ball in the air instead of (or as well as) running onto a ball played into space, a la Wolff or Diallo? I'm thinking there's not (and hasn't been) too many. McBride, Faria, Victorine (when he played up top), Cerritos. Carlos Ruiz seems to have a talent for it despite his size. Twellman seems to be able to win the ball, but does he get a shot on frame? How about Ian Fuller? He looks big enough, but I haven't seen him play too often. Who else? alansl
McBride is really the top guy there - watching the Nats, it becomes obvious that's why he's there, because it sure isn't for his footwork. (cringes at thought of him fanning on the ball in the Germany game)
Victorine seemed to be playing that role in the LA/Metros game and he looked good. I think he's underrated as a target-man type striker. alansl
I was unaware there was more than one Alan Shearer in the first place, so how could there be "Alan Shearers"?
Yes, but Cleetus the Slack Jawed Yokel is voiced by Hank Azaria, not Harry Shearer. Harry Shearer does Ned Flanders (among many others).
