    Rumor of 3 over-aged players

I heard through the grapevine that the USSF is looking at a couple of players that haven't been mentioned on here yet. I really do not want to let the names out of the bag yet, but I will talk to my source and try to confirm it in the next couple of days.

Send Freddy Adu, who we all know is like 32 years old. ;)

    1. JOB- he holds the ball well and is very creative. He is also played in a previous Olympics.

    2. Pope- a solid defender who can provide cover for the younger, less experienced defenders.

    3. Mathis- Because Donovan is already on the team.

IMHO JOB won't play in this one. I'm not so sure he would really want to if they decided to call him.

You think he would rather play in the Champions League. I would but Ajax might not win although they are very talented. That would be the main reason he wouldn't play. I asume.

I don't think he'd want to risk himself in a tourney whose leve he is above now.

I don't think there's any chance Ajax would let him after he missed most of the season for them after the Sydney games.

I know that some countries use their best dmid in the Olympic games before.

Say what you will about him as a player, but I recall seeing Diego Simeone play for Argentina in the 96 edition.
