With all this trade talk I wonder who everyone thinks are DC's untradeable , unreleasable players. Here are my picks: Rimando - The man just keeps us in games Petke & Kovalenko- We just got them Quaranta- too much talent as a forward to be dealt Olsen- will stay here until he goes overseas I think Convey and Etch are needed but not entirely untouchable although I think we're forced to keep Etch here since he just signed a new contract. I would also like to call Nelsen an untouchable but he's not IMO off limits.
I don't think anyone is untouchable anymore. It is a grey area. I mean there are guys I would think that we wouldn't consider parting with - Rimando and Convey. Several who we shouldn't. But all in all, everyone is fair game, and will continue to be.

I think you have to categorize to answer this question. 1. Those players we have recently acquired or resigned and hence will not be traded: Petke, Kovalenko and Etcheverry 2. Players we went through a lot of trouble to bring to DC last season and are not likely to be traded: Quintanilla and Reyes 3. "Darlings": Players that are young and generally believed to be talented: Olsen, Convey, and Quaranta 4. Players who had a good season last season when everyone else was busy sucking...Rimando and Nellie I would be very surprised if any of the players above were traded, but the only ones I would label as absolutely "untouchable" under current circumstances (Hudson as coach, etc.) would be Reyes, Olsen and Rimando.

i am not sure that dema or petke are exactly untouchable. i'd imagine for the right player anybody on this squad can be moved, given the circumstances. in fact, i seem to recall in the days before the trade with the scum that all the speculation was that petke would be trade bait for some other deal.
And here I thought you would be telling the forum that you wouldn't touch Petke with a ten foot pole -- or even a 5'8" one in the case of Nowak! GM
the choir indeed still exists. in fact some members of the choir (with the help of a Barra member who shall remain nameless) took down the ESC banner during the last scum game at RFK last season. they also battled CSC over standing in 232 and won that one.
I daresay nobody's untouchable...except maybe Kevin Payne who's been around when all the other "untouchables" were dealt away.

Pope, Moreno, Oops. There is no one on United is that is untouchable, but we may a few that are untradeable.

I don't think any of the new guys are untouchable. If Petke and a pick or allocation can be turned into an improvement, I think the trigger will be pulled. Dema seems to be a Ray-like player, and is more doubtful, but if the right deal comes along, I wouldn't be surprised. Olsen, Convey, Rimando,and Tino are the only players that would not be dealt within MLS.
