You need an option for "doesn't really matter". You also need help. I used to say to myself that all soccer shoes should be black, period. I've gotten used to it by now, I guess, and it doesn't bother me. But I'm a fan of high-tech footwear anyhow. I wanted some of those Reeboks with the inflatable ankle support via a basketball-shaped button on the tongue, but I have no basketball skills, so I didn't get 'em.
You need to add an option to the poll that says- Not too worried becasue the player spends more time cleaning them than playing in them.
I really don't care what color shoes guys wear, though I think players look sharper in black shoes. There's clearly room for individuality in soccer, but of course, it's not so individual when every guy and their grandma are wearing white.

I think white boots are freakin' cool!!! They let the players stand out. I love the new "lunar" - white looking Predators. I personally think the best white boots made are the Champions League Predators...limited edition boots, which I OWN !!!
So I guess I'd be all wrong in stating that white shoes are worn by the superstars who are a little too aware of their status and instead of the rest wearing black they need to wear white... so you can see they're special... Football is a team sport. You all wear the same jersey, so why not the same colour shoes? Besides that you look like a sissyboy. Die bitch
White soccer shoes are always, without exception, aesthetcally wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. If you where those horrid abominations, you best be scoring 30 goals a year, minimum.
Those were ugly shoes I ever saw them... goes for all basketball shoes. You know those shoes you get when you've got legs that aren't the same height? They're second hand basketbal shoes.
For all of us old enough to remember, this fad is being recycled from late '70s. For those who recall the NASL, remember Steve David? That being said, I agree with dj. You be wearing Billy Johnsons, you better be putting the ball in the net. Nor midfielder nor defender should wear white.
I'm more of a red shoes kinda guy myself, those Fila's are the most embrassing thing i have ever seen, and i agree, if youre going to wear the white shoes, you had better produce, if not BREAK HIS PHUCKING LEG!!!
Back in the early 80's, I was playing on fields that were so hard, cleats didn't help much. This was before I could find anything other than black cleats to use for soccer. But then I found some American Football turf shoes. BUt, uh oh, they were white. However, I used them on the hard grass fields we've all had to play on, and they were pretty effective. I would never use them today, of course. Ther are too many better options. I remember that the soles were kind of thick. I felt like I was playing on platforms. But they held the dirt and hard grassy ground better than any cleats I could get at the time.
We had this sort of argument in tennis a while ago. White was traditional look cool (Temperature wise as well.) Then the black basketball type shoe came in. First off they looked and still look, Ugly, hot, smelly and just plain uncomfortable. As for white or red football boots they’re just fine if the individual is an “Exceptional” player. If not, save them for the “All Dorothy Football Team” and we can all blow kisses at them. Break his leg? A little extreme for making a personal choice. (Smacks of "Gay Bashing") Unless he nutmegs you more than once a game…!!!
COlored shoes don't bother me. What bothers me is when players wear the white crew socks OVER their colored soccer socks. I think CLetus does this, it's bad and should be left for the NFL.
THose are definately for 13 yr. old girls whose travel team wears tye dyed t-shirts as jerseys. Them and Cuhatemoc Blanco.
My college team has something against white shoes. My defenders tend to tackle guys with white shoes harder than anyone else. Only goalscorers can wear white, and they better be putting the ball in. About those filas, um...wow, that's disgusting.
