Are he and Mr. Roper still alive?

Mr. Roper was played by Norman Fell who died in 1998. Here's his IMDB entry -- be sure to check him out in this movie.

I can't believe you people are ignoring the eternal greatness of Mr. Roper. When his wife tried to get jiggy with him, and he rejected her because she was old and worn out and he was more interested in the girls upstairs, that's classic comedy right there.

This man has a point, but Furley wanted to get busy with the girls upstairs too. I would also, however, like to point out the spastic genius of Don Knotts which provided hours of endless entertainment.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Wasn't there an episode of Three's Company that included both of them?

Didn't it seem like the comedic style of the series changed somwhat after the Ropers departed and Mr. Furley stepped in (not better or worse - just different), perhaps to correspond with the different way the Jack, the girls and Larry interacted with each landlord?

While Don Knotts could be funny, his replacing the Ropers was a classic Shark Jumping moment. Not to mention that the show was running out of steam by then anyway...
