Brazil is already there ... I think we are one of the first teams to make it there. Who else is already in South Africa ?
I know we (Australia were first there in the middle of last week. A Lot of teams had training camps in the Alps and will arrive in the next couple of days. We play Denmark tomorrow so I assume they are in South AFrica as well.
There must be some strategy involved as to why some teams are there already. The Netherlands, for example, are arriving late this week I believe, so that would leave almost a 2 week gap between them and Brazil. Both teams probably believe it was the smart thing to do.
Well Brazil arent going to be in SA the whole time. They have friendlies against Zim and Tanzania to be held in those countries so you cant generalise that they are only training in South Africa.
For the record... May 26: Australia... arrived 18 days before their first match. May 27: Brazil... 19 May 29: Denmark... 16 May 29: Argentina... 14 May 31: United States... 12
France is in Reunion Island currently... which is a tiny French region of 1 million inhabitants off the coast of South Africa.
Group H is the last to begin play, on June 16. Spain (along with quite a few other qualified teams) are/were training in the Alps. I'm guessing they've selected that location because of the altitude and misty weather, both of which they'll encounter in South Africa where it'll be winter.
