Three of the big four managers are at it again already - with Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho claiming Arsenal gets preferential treatment in fixture scheduling and Arsene Wenger telling them both to stuff it. So with the war of words between these three starting a little under a month before the season even starts, it got me to wondering which of the big four's managers (throwing in Rafa Benitez) will say the most asinine things over the course of the season?

Which will butt into every topic that really doesn't apply much to them the most?

Which will criticize the other ones the most?

Which will say something so bafflingly off-topic ("I really don't think that the New England Patriots are contenders for the Super Bowl" or something) that the entire punditocracy will say, "huh?"

Which will end up on the front page of the tabloids (either in picture, quote, or both) the most?

And finally is there a dark horse for someone who will actually distract from these four by being totally off the wall?

    ---

My money's on Mourinho just because I think over the course of the season he's going to have the most to answer for attributable directly to him. With Manchester United, people are going to blame the ownership for anything that goes wrong. With Arsenal if anything goes wrong it could be blamed on team chemistry. With Liverpool if anything goes wrong, it's obviously Gerrard's fault or something. :D

But with Chelsea, Jose has become the most public face on the team and with the amount of questions he gets, he's bound to say a lot of things off the cuff and honestly.

If Jose and Alex start agreeing on everything we're all doomed. The force of wind of those two would blow the world off axis if they weren't aiming it at each other.

I can't wait to hear Mourinho complain about the scheduling as the reason why his side lost the premiership.

And of course, not forgetting that the Kiddy Fiddler, will be telling everyone it's a huge disadvantage playing all your games at home after the CL fixtures

No doubt Benitez will start it though, bemoaning about the Champions (Livershit) having to qualify for the CL :(

But Moronho will win the day by telling everyone that Chelski have been held to ransom, having had to recall Hernan Crappo and Carlton Cole, because everyone wants a share of their zillions!

21 zillion is far too much for SWP, isn't it?

On the face of it - yes!
    Couldn't be any other way.

Then again, the kid is on a 5 year contract.
Now, given that contracts in this day and age aren't worth the paper they're written on, he should, I remain hopeful, stay for a few years.

If, in those years, he puts in stellar performances, wins a few trophies with the club and helps sustain continued success in Europe, he'll be viewed as merely expensive, but worth every penny. All the usual excuses will be trotted out...er...hang on a sec, they'll settle on one."He's English" and we all know English players...blah, blah, blah....

As opposed to what he now is.
Massively overpriced and, to date, truly untested at the highest levels of club football.

He has stayed shockingly quiet through the whole fixturegate affair (of all the stupid crap to argue about). Perhaps he's still in a state of bliss over keeping Steven Gerrard. Goodness knows that won't last much longer.

To be fair to Rafa, and why I am I don't know, they would have to play up to 85 matches if they win everything. Of course that won't happen. Still, it's a more legitimate gripe that if you fly into your own airport or a different one after a CL match.

Jose is probably the best interview on the planet right now. When he reeled off the starting lineups before the Barca match before asking "How's that for a grand finale" might have been my favorite from last year.

Actually, I think David Beckham is the best interviewee on the planet right now. He'll say exactly what he thinks the audience wants to hear and then hopes they don't remember.

Though Jose naming his starting lineup and then the starting lineup of Barcelona was an all-time classic.

I was actually going to start a new thread with that one (I wrote a blog entry about it). The "managers say the darndest things" game is definitely on.

Although, it could be said that it's just stating the obvious in that. Or feigning ignorance on why this is happening.

EDIT: I did start a new thread with it. :)
