Now, neither of the girls are beauty queens by any means, but did you go out and find the most unflattering photos of the two? In any case, neither can hold a candle to the elfin charm of Clay Aiken or match Ruben in a hot dog eating contest.
I was somewhat pressed for time when I started this thread and those were the only small photos I could find of them both. If I had more time, I probably could've gotten bigger pictures of the two girls and cropped them to a decent size... but oh well. As for this year's contestants, I personally would've chosen LaToya London myself (and not just because she's a fellow Bay Area native). She was far and away the best pure singer of the group, though Fantasia Barrino has a bit more "stage personality" than London. -G
Another interesting fact: both Fantasia and Diana were the top two from the same group in the middle rounds (the rounds that determined the Top 12). -G
I say vote for William Hung... The man... The myth... The legend... The 21st century's newest Charlie Chan and Mr. Yunioshi.
What's funny is that he did recieve a recording contract before any of this year's contestants did. -G
The American version of Pop Idol. I think the one that looks like Mr. T's little brother will win. Just because he'd be able to beat up the female finalist.
Ha ha. Fantasia won. They both sucked in my book. Fantasia had this helium voice. Diana was often flat. I let my kids tell me who won and I watched the FA Cup final.
I've watched very little of American Idol, but something sort of humorous (yet outrageous to Idol fans I suppose) in Salt Lake happened a few nights ago. While the show often airs live in the eastern US, on these nights the western US gets the show on a tape-delay because of time zone differences. On the night where they announced the winner, the local ABC affiliate showed news crawlers on the screen at least twice revealing the winner before the Idol show had completed on the local FOX affiliate. (Apparently hoping to encourage viewers to stop watching the show on FOX and start watching ABC.) A lot of angry local viewers apparently called both stations to complain. (Of course there isn't much the FOX affiliate could have done.) This was the same Clear-Channel owned ABC affilicate that decided to run infocommercials instead of showing the world cup final live a few summers ago.
