Had to vote for my Wizards due to their seemingly uber talented strike force and defense that has for all intensive purposes sucked something fierce and now dwells near the bottom of the table. I think everyone knew DC would have a superior squad this season (not this good of course) but many picked KC to be neck and neck with them for the most part as well.

Chivas has been a pleasant surprise and are looking pretty decent as well.

Have to go with the celtic-killers even though they were not in game shape and it was a friendly.

The Wizards will rebound when they move to Philadelphia next year.

I'm surprised DC United got so many votes. The fact that they are 1st in the East is not surprising. Chivas' entertaining play and positive results are the real surprise of the season.

I'll say. I thought they would be middle of the pack at least...:(

I don't think that's the point. The surprise is that DC is (roughly) 21 points ahead of New England. But Chivas is also a surprise.

I'm surprised my team stinks so bad. If you look at the names on the paper, we should be much better than this. Sigh...

What's surprised me this year is the total lack of a competitor for DC United in the East. Sure, I thought DC'd compete for the Eastern crown, but the fact that KC, NE, and Chi are so far out is very surprising. I don't think you can blame the world cup either. KC can make an argument, but they haven't done much with those players back in the lineup.

Anthing can happen in the playoffs, however.

To be honest the West is pretty much how I expected it to go down.

Has to be DC and Chivas, my two favorite teams to watch. DC because they are so far ahead in the east and Chivas because they have added some defense and are still playing exciting offense.

I'm suprised by all the talent the Revolution have, and they've not been dominating. That just proves my point, that their coach is overrated. Remember he coached the MLS Select team. He sucks! I'm glad we got rid of our sucky coach (Sampson) and got one of the best, in Frankie Yallop.

Honestly, I haven't watched much MLS, so the only real surprise I've been treated to was a US club being a solid euro team. So you know my vote.

Real Salt Lake. I'm suprised that all their changes have them only a hair better than last year and more so that they haven't fire Ellinger for his gross incompetance.

I said Wizards for the same reason as Beech. Uber squad with absolutely no results. I'm not too surprised with DC although they are doing ridiculously well. The only other team that's really surprised me is Chivas. They are looking good.

Me too. Last weeks game was just another example. I'll be patient and hope for a great run in the latter part of the season . The coach question, IDK, there's worse out there that's for sure.

First part I fully agree with. The Revs have surprised me, but not in a good way.

Second part ... you can't exactly use the Select team against Nicol. He got to put together a team that flew to Madrid, IIRC, on a Tuesday, practiced that afternoon, played the next day and came home. Asking a team to play at one of the world's renown stadiums with one full practice as a team ... seems a bit unjust. Not that I don't think they would have lost either way ... but using that against Nicol isn't right. Now, if you ask me as a Revs fan about Nicol ... I'd say his clock has now started to head towards midnight. He hasn't won shit for us, his team has packed it in for the two finals they've made, and basically for just over a year now they've been just an average team, with some very talented players on it.

Surprise in a good way - Chivas because of the turn around.

Surprise in a bad way - GaLAxy because the drop and results were not expected from the current champ.

Not a surprise - DCU because they seem to be head and shoulders above other teams.
