at this point in time i would have to say that i am most impressed with SKC as an organization.

i would put Houston up in the top two or three just because of the new stadium and the consistent winning of the Dom . I think these two teams are doing the most to maintain quality on the pitch and off.

I agree. As much as I hate to admit it, I think you have to include the Seattle operation. RSL ain't doing a bad job. Singlehandedly made CONCACAF champions league into something.

I would go with SEA and RSL too-not sure about KC. Before that place got built, that city didn't even know it had a team. they had a history of making terrible of managerial decisions. Fortunately they had Vermes in the FO.

Depends on your criteria I suppose. I would put SKC, RSL, and LA up top. You have to put Houston on that list as well based on what the organization has done since moving here with little to no extra funds. Portland does a nice job on the business side but seem loss in personnel. Toronto has made huge improvements and looks to be on the right track.

It has nothing to do with this thread, but I was reminded of the time we went to KC on the 4th of July. That was in their temporary minor-league baseball stadium. I was amazed at how many fans there had no idea they were building a really nice new stadium, not far at all from the old one. I knew more about it than most of the fans I talked to there. Very strange.

Sure as shit it ain't Columbus or Dallas. Owned by the most incompetent ownership group, Hunt Sports Group. Sporting fans ought to thank their lucky stars that Rob Heinemann runs that team, not HSG.

The answer is dependent upon how you view "the organization". I view it as a combination of on-field & off-field elements. But do you weight it for large vs. small market and who maximizes their resources?

Maybe I would look at it this way, what teams "get it" on and off the field:

Houston, RSL, Seattle, SKC. With LAG & Vancouver in the next group.

    The rest of the field:
San Jose needs a stadium. Getting it together on field.
Portland is a mess outside of the atmosphere & supporters.
NYRB squanders the biggest market (although it is a bigger challenge than some thing).
TFC just started righting the ship.
Philly let Nowak destroy it but have good stadium.
DCU has gone a while without success or a stadium.
    Montreal is too early.
Colorado, Dallas, Columbus, Chicago - all teams that plod along in their market like a minor-league level team.
Chivas had a poor starting concept and needs to be relocated.
NE probably the worst due to stadium & Kraft not really caring. And they drew great at the beginning in MLS.

im going to reiterate my claim of SKC as the most impressive org at this time. THey have a trophy now. they have a great stadium with interactive components for the fan. they ;pack the house.the havce Heineman running the show and he is very aggressive in scouting and trying to sign players. They are solid at coach with Vermes.

i should say in response to an earlier post, about the criteria, for me it was as of now ,and wasnt taking into account the past.
im impressed with Vancouver as well.I think they have a great young Scott coaching them and have been really agressive in signings with Robson. he is definitely class. They have a good fan base and support. I would not be surprised at all to see Vancouver as a perrenial playoff conteder.

when it comes down to overall, historical etc....i think you have to put LA up there too because they have won, and went all out to sign Becks. And no one can argue that Becks coming to MLS has put us on the map. He has been a great ambassador for MLS.Keane says it was Becks alone that convinced him to com eand Henry says something very similar.

SKC seems to be primed to be perrenial contenders as well.

NY has to be the worst over the long haul........maybe followed very closely by Chivas USA. I mean what is Chivas USA doing? Move to SanDiego, build a stadium ,rebrand and start over from scratch with a huge fan base that probably would support the team greatly
