went to all games at euro 2004. I saw 14 games at that tournament. Went to all quarter finals catching trains from day to day haha. Guimaraes was a crap city { sorry guimaraes people lol } and I caught the train there for our opener vs Denmark all the way from Lisbon that morning as I saw the France vs England game the day before. 5 hours for a 0-0 draw and 5 hours backsame thing for the Bulgaria game only for us to win it in the last minute but to find out we were gone seconds latere as sweden and denmark drew 2-2. I caught the train to Lisbon that night as I saw Portugal vs England the next day where beckham skyed it ver the bar in the shootout. Met some cool Canadians-Italians on the train after the first game, I woke them up early { sorry guys if you happen to stumble across this post some day, you were cool} saw them again after the Bulgarian game. The Italy v Sweden game was cool but trapp killed us again as he did vs Korea by going defensive. I think he took off DP as he did in that Korea game. I went to Milan for 5 nights which is a long way just for five nights from Australia for the 2007 ECQ Italy vs France. All that way again just for a 0-0 draw! We played crap! We hit 2 good early chances from DP and Inzaghi when he hit the bar and that was it. I was close to catching a plane for the 2006 world cup final but just the air fair I think was 6 grand. The ticket would have been a fotune too. Money wasnt an issue as I won a lot of money that world cup { hence the Italy-Australia bet if you read that in the other thread } but it was too last minute and I didnt trust euro team { tho theyve never let me down } I wish we beat Spain at euro 2008 because I went there for the 2 semi's and final. I left that morning of the game { the game was played at 2.30 am over here } and was depressed after we lost of course. Got overit pretty fast tho and enjoyed the semi's and final of euro 2008. Well there it is ive only seen 4 Italia games live, seen 18 International games all up and a nunch of serie A and champions league. Would have been sick to be at Germany vs Italy semi finals in 2006 and 2012.
I only attended one friendly in my lifetime. Italy vs Serbia in Toronto a year before WC06. Many thought that Italy brought their B team but there was I believe 6 players called for that game that won the World Cup.
Nice! ye we drew that game and drew with Ecuador also I recall. Not sure if gila scored in the serbia game or ecuador game? I think it was him.
First time was the Bicentennial Cup in 1976 as Italy played Team America at RFK Stadium in DC USA at Giant Stadium, I think in '78 but not sure Austria at Stadio Olimpico '90 WC USA at Stadio Olimpico '90 WC USA at Soldier Field '92 Brazil at Yale Bowl '93 Ireland at Giant Stadium '94 WC Norway at Giant Stadium '94 WC Mexico at RFK Stadium '94 WC
Awesome! You seen them at USA 94 and got to witness Roberto Baggio! The Norway game was a cracker. Winning with ten men, if only you also went to the nigeria and spain games also
If they had won the group as they were suppose to do, I would have seen them at the second round match at Giant Stadium. Since they finished third in the group, they ended up going to Foxboro and I ended up watching Bulgaria-Mexico. I saw Baggio in '92 in Chicago. Unfortunately, he did not appear in the first two Italia matches at the '90 WC. He started and scored that fantastic goal against Czechoslovakia in the third group match but I was in Florence for the US-Austria game. BTW, I checked some records and I think the match at Yale was in the '92 US Cup against Portugal. For some reason, I thought they played Brazil but I can't remember. I do recall making that match at halftime as there was a bad accident on I-95.
Nice, I was there too. Almost forget about that. Skydome. Italy vs Spain. Bari 2011. If only we coulda pulled the same result this year
