With the Devils' win over the Senators yesterday, I will be forced to cheer for a team from the LA area for the first time in my life. But I'm not sure if this is as bad as potentially having to cheer for BU scumbag Freddy Meyer, who signed with the Flyers this week, in the near future. Of course Meyer will likely never be good enough to wear the orange and black, but one never knows.

From what my friend told me...Anaheim really likes to seperate itself from "Los Angeles".

It's true. Orange County is what you get if you take LA and remove the glamor, diversity and culture.

I give you no glamour, but no diversity? Have you been to Anaheim, Santa Ana or Garden Grove?

I didn't mean strictly racial diversity (though it just might be the most whitebread are of California).
It's very middle to middle-upper class and there really isn't an equivalent of South Central or East LA, or even West Hollywood.

And of course, I'm trying to generalize.

Actually that is a high tech area and there is a very large East Asian population in that area.

There is a significant Mexican community in both Anaheim & Santa Ana and a lot of Vietnamese in Garden Grove & Irvine.

The rest of the county, however, is less diverse, particularly the beach cities (Huntington, Newport Dana Point etc.) and the northeastern part of the county (Fullerton, Yorba Linda etc.)

Given your political leanings, dfb, you should be heartily on the Ducks bandwagon, which represents one of the biggest conservative-leaning counties in California. I mean, would they have tolerated building Nixon's library anywhere else?
