Well the MFL has demonstrated its superiority over MLS quite clearly (and painfully for some of us). Based on the last few years of Liberadores action, the MFL is close, but not quite as good as, the Brazilian and Argentinian leagues. But clearly superior to every other league.

for me, in leagues, is like this:
    1.- Brazil
    2.- Argentina
    3.- México

and well, since i dont watch mls games i cant say anything about that league

  4. Brazil is loaded of talent, but they "league" or what ever is that thing is very disorganized. We can't talk about a Brazilian football league.

Argentina has an organized league. They also have deep on talented players but most of them are exported to other leagues. Teams like Boca and River export players but also import them. I think that if take out of the league the top 4 teams the level of play would drastically drop.

IMHO Brazil and Argentina can fight it out for #1 while Colombia & Mexico can do so for #3.

the colombian league has only a few good teams unlike the mfl which is strong all around.

In the last few years, Columbia hasn't done enough in Libertadores to merit 3rd best league.

  8. This year DIM and Deportivo Cali are hot.

CLUB AMERICA DE CALI HAS gone to 4 finals

dept Cali went to the final vs Palmeriras, lost on PKs, 3yrs ago

argentina and mexico move more money than brazilean ligas.

brazilean and argie liga have more talented players

mexican liga, depends too much on argies and other southamericans, just look at the top 10 goal scores!

colombian liga, is poor in salary payments, but very competitive, in the middle of the table today, they have about 10 teams with 1 or 2 pts difference

MLS does better in attendance than colombian Liga of the last 2yrs, I think is 14k in USA vs 11.8k in colombia (they have twice as many games to count in a weak economy) Plus copa libertadores or copa suramericana tourney to worry about
    conclusion, IMHO
    1. argentina
    2. brazil
    3. Mexico
    4. colombia
    4. MLS

Depends ? Did you see an all Mexie Cruz Azul team kick the Crap out of Corinthians by 3-0 !!! There is no denying that the South American players make the MFL a better league but to say that the MFL depends on them is exagerating. You make it sound like Argentina and Brazil dont have their fair share of foreigners.

There doesn't seem to be any argument about Brazil, but I wonder how Argentina and Mexico are going to compare after a few more years.

Not to belittle MLS, but I wonder how well we'd do against Uruguayan and Paraguayan teams, not even broaching the subject of having to play a team in Bolivia.

To be frank, MLS needs a few more years of growth, attracting more talent from the rest of the Americas and at least several more Concacaf Championship tournaments under its belt before we can start putting it anywhere near the top five.

The key is definitely more away games without any more of the Concacaf-inspired US-based tournaments as well as the continued economic growth of the league.

    But I digress...

cruz azul vs corinthians... is just one game, we are talking ligas overall.

2001. Since 1990, there have been 11 Mexicans who have been the top goal scorer. And there also has been 11 Foreigners who have been top goal scorer. Its been fairly even the last 12 years.

You might find this interesting, but certain players are designated as penalty kick shooters by contract.

Erm, no, no tienes razon. Observate:

    2002: Diego Tristan (Deportivo)
    2001: Raul (Real Madrid)
    2000: Salva (Racing Santander)
    1999: Raul (Real Madrid)

    that is in spain!

But, at the same time that speaks well of the mexican Liga, meaning that they have lots of money to attrack talent and good scorers, same reason they do not export many players (good salaries are found @ home) On the other hand speaks bad at the national team level, taking the few top local scores that get a chance to be tha man to go every sunday.

Le quitabas a Estay or Victor Ruiz a Cardozo.. y estaba mudo.

    Makaay (DEP) 24
    Nihat (RSA) 18
    Kovacevic (RSA) 17
    Ronaldo (RMA) 15
    Kluivert (BAR) 12

sorry, I did not notice that my post came across that way.

    IMHO- that is all...

rdl....do not go too far in yrs count....

the question of the matter sounds like what liga is better now days.... History help to show, how they got here, but is my answers area small average of the last few yrs.... can nOt speak for the las 20 or 15, I did not follow it close.
