Those prior games have a bearing, not telling us how the games will be played as Iran is a very different team now including tactically, but in giving a side the inner confidence that they can beat their opponent. I am sorry, but going against a team you have beaten 4 straight times is not going to be as nerve wracking as playing a side that everyone expects will thrash you!
Playing against a team that doesn't or can't score, isn't precisely something that keeps anyone from sleeping.....
The iran-bosnia game will become the least watched game of this entire tournament that's for damn sure.
Iran is not only the team with the most masculine hairstyles, they're also warriors and will advance beating the Bosnians. They just need Argentina to beat Nigeria.
While I do appreciate masculine hairstyles, I do not think it has any bearing on whether the team is full of fighters and/or whether they will advance.
So there's the end of that pipe dream. Ther's the end of that pipe dream. I wish all Iranian posters finally recognize that friendly games do not matter in determination of relative strength.
So the order is: Cameroon Honduras Australia There's been a lot of discussion on these threads that UEFA has too many teams in the WCup competition. Thus far Croatia, Bosnia, Spain, Italy and England have not qualified. I can hardly give any reason to change the current format with regard to UEFA. Honduras came in as #3 CONCACAF and have shown zilch. 3.5 spots seem purrfect.
Yet the #4 beat the Croats and earned a close 2nd in a group that included host Brazil. South America had 80% make it to the 2nd round. (4/5) CONCACAF 75% made it to the 2nd round. (3/4) Euro had 46% make it to the 2nd round (6/13)* (Assuming last group stays the same) Africa had 40% make it to the 2nd round(2/5)* See above Asia had 0% make it to the 2nd round (0/4) New Zeeland and Pacific Atolls did not qualify.
actually South America had 5/6 for 83%, last WC they were 5/5. No question who is currently and recently the strongest confed.
Well one of the few things I was right about this WC. Nice job Algeria, you have a new supporter in me.
